two of the Alvarius B tracks are from the S/T double album, his 2nd. Since I consider that record one of humanity's finer achievements, it is difficult for me to objectively evaluate the rest. In this case "the rest" is AB covering the 18-minute track ("Ding") in an approx. 9 minute version and Cerberus Shoal covering the two AB tracks which is quite interesting. Good release overall, worth looking for.

Man, I really wish that track was available via iTunes or eMusic or perhaps even some free means of downloading things (HINT). I'm ordering the disc, but I need instant gratification, damnit!

Woo!

Whoa - the typewriter is all the way panned left. I didn't notice that in the car.

Fuck, this is good.

I love how the arrangement gets denser and denser each time, but it happens so slowly. The mere entrance of the jaw harp becomes jaw-dropping, not even to mention where the simple drum beat and the marimbas come in.

I also really dig all the use of noise, crowd chatter, etc. -- it's like what the Books try to do but done much better.

how does the rest of the cerberus back cat measure up? vim & vigour and Mr. Boy Dog are the only ones i've heard.

It's been hit-and-miss in my limnited searching. I know the pre-2001 stuff is way punkier, with different members of the band. The girls (who do the singing I like so much) joined around 2000, i think.
