That word is probably one of the more shocking slurs for me. It's so rarely used that every time it pops up, it's like I have to rediscover it's existence.

how's life, Monday, 12 May 2014 14:37 (nine years ago) link

It always strikes me as particularly hateful because it rhymes with "ooze" and is slang for vagina.

carl agatha, Monday, 12 May 2014 14:49 (nine years ago) link

Yeah, it basically translates as "I hate women, and vaginas, and am an awful person who should die alone"

A useful term in the sense that it quickly removes people from the pool of likely candidates for friendship, respect, mating, etc

i must admit I like reading a good negative review from time to time. more than that even. of course, reviews by obvious douchenozzles are not fun to read. but there are plenty of entertaining tales of genuinely horrible dining experiences (the likes of which i've never had) to entertain you for hours, even for businesses (mostly restaurants) in my metro area.

there's one particular sad gyros place around these parts that has like 40 one-star reviews which detail the most hilariously horrid behavior by the owner/cook.

in one case they sent someone the wrong item in a delivery. the delivery guy came back, demanded that the customer come downstairs to his apt building's front door to return the meal, noting that only when they got the first meal back would they begin preparing the correct one. ?!?!

"There is no doubt that Otto's is a great, classic, establishment. I have met a number of outstanding, classy, sophisticated, women in the lower level bar. Bartenders are absolutely excellent. The bar menu is outstanding & features quality items (not your routine "Bar Food").
Upstairs, where the true spirit of Otto's really shines.
By far, the finest dining experience on the West side of Madison. Quite often I drive by and don't stop, simply because I'm "under-dressed" (Blue Jeans). Honestly, take a date for drinks and Appetizers in the lower level. If the date is going well...take her upstairs to demonstrate your level of sophistication."

We drove up at about 9:25 p.m. to what looked like a cool little place to sit and have some seafood and a beer. When we walked up to the door, the sign for hour of operations said "varies". We asked the waitress who had just sat a table of four and she said that they were closed. We asked what the hours were tomorrow and she said, quote "depends on business" I asked for a ball park hour and she rolled her eyes, sneered and repeated herself again.

The drink I had was delicious...a dunkachinno. Very creamy and good. My baby ate a donut hole which she thoroughly enjoyed, but when I spilled my water and asked for a mop, the employee rolled her eyes at me! I wasn't asking HER to clean it up.

was appalled at the manager( I am assuming she was the manager. She was wearing a black shirt and everyone else was wearing a red shirt) of this location, upon arrival, she was arguing with the customer ahead of us. Then it was our turn. We ordered, abs I turned around to get me drink. I felt as this annoyed the manager, who as soon as I turned around bombarded me with what sauce I wanted. She rolled her eyes at my fiancée who wasn't sure what sauce he wanted.

Stay away even if it's cheap! The worst treatment by a unprofessional "stylist"... she was rude and unfriendly the whole time. I didn't get her name but She is young and has dyed redish/brown shoulder length hair. She didn't do a good job or speak to my son the entire visit. When given instructions on what I wanted she rolled her eyes and said something smart instead of answering politely. She wore an extremely low cut blouse and her heavy breasts were hanging out in my 7 year olds face.

when it came time to choose pics the second lady was incredibly inpatient when my husband and I were trying to choose poses. She rolled her eyes when I asked to look at a pic twice. I'm addition she was talking so loud (almost in a yelling voice) while standing one foot away, I had to step back just to gain my thoughts.

Well to start off its Burger King. I am not expecting much to begin with. But when you go through the drive thru and they ask you to pull forward and then wait 20 minutes its just unheard of. When the worker finally gave us our food it was ALL wrong. So I proceeded inside and asked for a manager. Told them it was already an issue that we waited 20 minutes and even worse that they got all our food wrong. She did not once apologize. She rolled her eyes then said she would refund our card back.

DO N !!!! I walked in to get a manicure. There was a woman with long dark hair who was VERY rude. I simply asked how long the wait was and she rolled her eyes and said "as soon as he finishes with the lady he is working on he'll get to you." I thought a nail salon was a place that you walked into to be treated nicely not to be talked to like you're stupid. All I wanted was a nice manicure on my lunch break and instead eyes were rolled at me and I was treated horribly. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!

Minus three stars for customer service.

I was ignored by the girl doing inventory behind the counter while the other employee was busy with another customer. She rolled her eyes when I politely asked for a shoe size, and then she asked why I didn't try on the model... I told her the model was not in my size, and I had returned it back to its spot. She got frustrated for some reason until she went over and checked out the model for herself...then she half-assed lacing up the shoes and threw it at the floor..... I think if I am going over to Del Monte I need to dress in my teacher clothing.. maybe I will get treated like a human being and someone who is older than the employees..Christ I just want a pair of running shoes..... attitude isn't necessary.

I had a very negative experience at the 72 and L Street- A worker named Gabi was very rude. We placed our items on the counter... Gabi approached the cashier and began talking to the cashier... while we were waiting... they did not say -- "hold on" or anything to acknowledge us.
I then asked if the cash register was in operations... Gabi rolled her eyes and the cashier tried to start ringing us up... and Gabi said "I guess- just go ahead and ring them out" and THEN rolled her eyes and walked away. When we walked out the door- she rolled her eyes at us.
At this point, we asked to speak to a manager-- Gabi then rolled her eyes AGAIN!

i had just called for the manager when a fragile-looking, stooped old man stepped out from behind the deli counter. placing his hands over the top half of his face, he proceeded to roll his eyes across the tiled floor in my direction. i looked down in horror, only to discover that the eyes were merely marbles. he then stepped forward and insisted that i whisper my complaint into his empty sockets.

I am trying to impress a classy female vegan at the office. Things were going ok Friday when she saw me sneaking a snack in the break room. Just some pretzels and mayo...nothing offensive. She looked at me like I was eating veal! I had no idea that vegans or vegetarians hate mayo due to eggs being an ingredient. Any suggestions on where o get vegetarian mayo? If it doesn't exist I may just print a fake label to put on my existing mayo and hope she doesn't research it. Any help is appreciated.

I mean, maybe one of those baked, soft pretzels you get at the baseball that has salt on it would be good with some kind of... flavoured mayonnaise, let's say herb and garlic or maybe curry.

I like the atmosphere, a bit more austere than WK, colder over-all feel. The beer selection was decent (bartender informed us upon arrival they were out of 2 drafts), the bread service is arrogant and a little insulting. Delightful packaging of simple brown packing paper (points for style) when opened reveals two tiny slices of the tiniest loaf of bread Tiny Tim ever laid eyes on. Butter? Delicious. Butchers board was a phenomenal experience, pork belly less so, yet we did clean it up and the sides too (potato salad and hominy A+). Will certainly be back to check out more of the menu.
