hendry's record's safe

^ 諷刺 (ken c), Monday, 5 May 2014 21:18 (nine years ago) link

It was going to be safe even after today, didn't think he'd ever get near it (thought he'd win four...)

xyzzzz__, Monday, 5 May 2014 21:21 (nine years ago) link

Anyway, he probably should've won this by now. Only Higgins was more 'granite' to deny him, and that clearance was the best to win the final since I think Higgins himself since Trump, but I might be recalling it wrong..

Looking back, match of the tournament, imho: Robertson v Selby

StanM, Monday, 5 May 2014 21:26 (nine years ago) link

eleven months pass...

Some good tight stuff already: Selby taken to the brink on day one.

Now Ronnie, first frame on a max..

xyzzzz__, Tuesday, 21 April 2015 13:55 (eight years ago) link

That was a tough chance, gets a century instead.

Asked the ref what the money was..;-)

xyzzzz__, Tuesday, 21 April 2015 13:58 (eight years ago) link

The guys in the studio are amazed that Ronnie is playing in his socks.

Eyeball Kicks, Tuesday, 21 April 2015 15:54 (eight years ago) link

"the socket"

StanM, Tuesday, 21 April 2015 16:37 (eight years ago) link

Had forgotten how much I love watching this when I'm in the right mood.

Alan McManus looks like a dude with some dark secrets.

Ron Paul's Drag Race (Mr Andy M), Tuesday, 21 April 2015 16:56 (eight years ago) link

Scottish players in general aren't to be messed with apart from Maguire, his record is appalling.

xyzzzz__, Tuesday, 21 April 2015 19:32 (eight years ago) link

LOL @ Ding forgetting he was on a 147.

xyzzzz__, Tuesday, 21 April 2015 19:33 (eight years ago) link

Stevens has just annihilated Williams 10-2.

Can't wait for the match w/Ronnie.

xyzzzz__, Wednesday, 22 April 2015 14:35 (eight years ago) link

saw some of mcgill earlier, serious serious player

carrington too but maybe a little less so

carles the jekyll (imago), Friday, 24 April 2015 20:32 (eight years ago) link

Ding started badly in both of his first two matches. as turned one around and now another, except this is against Higgins. One away.

xyzzzz__, Saturday, 25 April 2015 10:43 (eight years ago) link

Higgins just holding on here

Keith Moom (Neil S), Saturday, 25 April 2015 11:06 (eight years ago) link

wtf @ this frame. Ding had the match at his mercy then a bad contact. Higgins wins on the last black - still 12-9 down.

xyzzzz__, Saturday, 25 April 2015 11:07 (eight years ago) link

ok Ding has missed a fkn sitter...

xyzzzz__, Saturday, 25 April 2015 11:10 (eight years ago) link

one more chance Ding - keeping nerves steady time, talking about myself here

xyzzzz__, Saturday, 25 April 2015 11:13 (eight years ago) link

ok that was good torture on sat morning.

xyzzzz__, Saturday, 25 April 2015 11:35 (eight years ago) link

classic stuff on sat night from both ronnie and stevens.

xyzzzz__, Saturday, 25 April 2015 19:10 (eight years ago) link

2-0 down, now 3-2 up - great response by Ronnie.

xyzzzz__, Saturday, 25 April 2015 19:51 (eight years ago) link

mcgill - murphy is a classic in the making

carles the jekyll (imago), Tuesday, 28 April 2015 11:27 (eight years ago) link

bingham on the verge

huge lols at this

bureau belfast model (LocalGarda), Wednesday, 29 April 2015 22:35 (eight years ago) link

Should've been done years ago. tick.jpg

Saw highlights only - Bingham was excellent. Ronnie looked totally under the cosh.

Anyone but Trump. Would've fancied Robertson to beat him but he's out after a tight match last night.

xyzzzz__, Thursday, 30 April 2015 09:06 (eight years ago) link

Hawkins scores really well for someone who runs out of position every three shots.

loving that facebook page.

the other day there were a bunch of fans in the audience wearing t-shirts with a caricature, and the phrase itself.

mark e, Thursday, 30 April 2015 13:13 (eight years ago) link

Anyone but Trump

ahh .. my young'un is a fan of trump (he is a local lad - relatively), so, he is rather excited at the moment ..

mark e, Thursday, 30 April 2015 13:15 (eight years ago) link

Hawkins scores really well for someone who runs out of position every three shots.

Bingham at this now - just went from 50 to 74 on a break and was out of position for every shot but one.

mea nulta (onimo), Thursday, 30 April 2015 19:34 (eight years ago) link

bingham's position better than hawkins'

murphy has the best position game of the remaining players by miles

carles the jekyll (imago), Thursday, 30 April 2015 19:36 (eight years ago) link

scoring seems to have held up for years despite positional play going backwards to an extent

modern players seem to play 3/4 table recovery shots with ease - shots that many pre-Hendry players would refuse

mea nulta (onimo), Thursday, 30 April 2015 19:51 (eight years ago) link

don't like trump for some reason

carles the jekyll (imago), Thursday, 30 April 2015 20:10 (eight years ago) link

£2000 spiky shoes

mea nulta (onimo), Thursday, 30 April 2015 20:13 (eight years ago) link

ha.
i hate the shoe thing.
but mk2 is too young to care re such frivolities.
trump is a local boy, so therein lies a reason for his passion.
personally, i would love it if bingham trashed his groove as we share the same hairstyle.

mark e, Thursday, 30 April 2015 20:22 (eight years ago) link

Oh, Barrypaws.

StanM, Friday, 1 May 2015 12:39 (eight years ago) link

Assuming he's got nothing left..

xyzzzz__, Friday, 1 May 2015 12:51 (eight years ago) link

Yeah, he's the world number 5. Maybe it's a trap - let Murphy get to 16 and then...

xyzzzz__, Friday, 1 May 2015 13:17 (eight years ago) link

Don't care abot the shoes or Burger King badge. First frame of new session: Trump with some aggressive play but again shit safety and Bingham clears up. 6-4.

xyzzzz__, Friday, 1 May 2015 14:05 (eight years ago) link

Great response, century for 6-5

xyzzzz__, Friday, 1 May 2015 14:16 (eight years ago) link

At the next Bingham should've punished some terrible play from trump (the early attacking split of the pack from the Brown) but he has missed one - key clerance coming up.

xyzzzz__, Friday, 1 May 2015 14:31 (eight years ago) link

Let off: 6-5

xyzzzz__, Friday, 1 May 2015 14:35 (eight years ago) link

at the next Trump attacks rather than play safe when he breaks down: 7-5 Bingham.

xyzzzz__, Friday, 1 May 2015 14:56 (eight years ago) link

Incredible positional shot from Judd from pink to get to the red. Really has to be seen to be believed, but then he misses the tough red.

Bingham clears for 8-5.

xyzzzz__, Friday, 1 May 2015 15:34 (eight years ago) link

I don't care about shoes or fast food endorsements either, just don't like either his playing style or demeanour

an absolute feast of hardcore fanboy LOLs surrounding (imago), Friday, 1 May 2015 15:35 (eight years ago) link

8-6 Bingham, nice enough break from Trump.

xyzzzz__, Friday, 1 May 2015 16:00 (eight years ago) link

I don't see the Bingman winning tbh - even though he's good and in front

StanM, Friday, 1 May 2015 16:02 (eight years ago) link

At the next greta little shot from Trump on the red but he often doesn't close out the deal - misses the green.

Getting tense all round now..

xyzzzz__, Friday, 1 May 2015 16:04 (eight years ago) link

I can see it going to the last frame.

Conclusion from the day's proceedings = its Murphy's title to lose.

xyzzzz__, Friday, 1 May 2015 16:05 (eight years ago) link

Murphy's trousers/waistcoat combo >>>>>
