Kinda hoping there's a Worst Songs side poll for Dylan, and then I kinda want to poll Elton's worst against Dylan's.

― Inside Lewellyn Sinclair (cryptosicko), Thursday, April 24, 2014 4:11 PM

just throwing this out there

RSD-rolled (sleeve), Friday, 25 April 2014 00:24 (ten years ago) link

cuz I love Dylan but man do I hate some of his songs

RSD-rolled (sleeve), Friday, 25 April 2014 00:24 (ten years ago) link

Oh there will be a worst Dylan songs poll, for sure.

something of an astrological coup (tipsy mothra), Sunday, 27 April 2014 00:07 (ten years ago) link

rereading this for ready reference: What is the worst ever line from a Bob Dylan song?

Doctor Casino, Sunday, 27 April 2014 00:36 (ten years ago) link

Will have a first-take ballot to you within 30 minutes.

clemenza, Sunday, 27 April 2014 01:25 (ten years ago) link

is something going to run along with Bod Dylan since the voting is open for such a long time. either "Classic Rock" or Outkast would work i would think. i know it was brought up already so this is more of a bump.

Bee OK, Thursday, 1 May 2014 01:41 (nine years ago) link

I could do Outkast probably starting this weekend

kidd-gilchrist-douglas-roberts- (Spottie), Thursday, 1 May 2014 14:45 (nine years ago) link

Hot Bod Dylan

how's life, Thursday, 1 May 2014 14:54 (nine years ago) link

You may call me Bod, you may call me Zimmy

A frenzied geologist (Tom D.), Thursday, 1 May 2014 14:55 (nine years ago) link

Two artist polls going at once is kinda unusual though, no? Of course, I probably wouldn't be saying this if I didn't want to vote in both and was worried about dividing my attention too much (Dylan's catalogue is daunting enough to re-evaluate without throwing Outkast on top of it).

Funk autocorrect (cryptosicko), Thursday, 1 May 2014 16:10 (nine years ago) link

i gotta clarify that i def can't do oasis, sorry- back at college and still settling in to a more hectic work schedule. iirc someone else had volunteered to do it if i pulled out

james lipton and his francs (darraghmac), Tuesday, 6 May 2014 21:22 (nine years ago) link

At this pace you can get your doctorate before Oasis comes up.

WilliamC, Wednesday, 7 May 2014 01:59 (nine years ago) link

lol, no kidding.

Bee OK, Wednesday, 7 May 2014 02:16 (nine years ago) link

I wish I could vote in a Billy Joel poll TODAY RIGHT NOW

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 15 May 2014 21:18 (nine years ago) link

Sooner or later, you'll feel that momentum kick in.

Doctor Casino, Thursday, 15 May 2014 21:54 (nine years ago) link

it just may be a billy joel listening thread you're looking for -- and that could happen at any moment if i'm reading the tea leaves correctly.

fact checking cuz, Thursday, 15 May 2014 22:09 (nine years ago) link

I'm already on deck for two more polls lol but...

would there be any interest in a Native Tongues poll?

Οὖτις, Friday, 16 May 2014 19:08 (nine years ago) link

yeah

some dude, is Classic Rock a go during/after Dylan results?

how many get done a year?

ogmor, Monday, 26 May 2014 19:29 (nine years ago) link

In the early days, about 20. So far this year, four.

Those four ruled tho.

i'll check back in four years and see how the fahey poll is coming along

i am an unpredictable Neil Young kind of classic rock pollrunner, not a corporate rock clock puncher. the label will hear the album when it's ready.

ςὖτ ιτ Οὖτ (some dude), Monday, 26 May 2014 20:12 (nine years ago) link

(that's not a "no," though, I will say the outlook is good, I'm just not going to make any promises that could still be broken)

ςὖτ ιτ Οὖτ (some dude), Monday, 26 May 2014 20:14 (nine years ago) link

I'm ready to start Outkast if we want to speed things up a bit? Gonna be on vacation starting in 3 weeks so I could wrap the whole thing up before I leave if I start it today/tomorrow?

Spottie, Monday, 26 May 2014 21:15 (nine years ago) link

I think that would be great. I don't think it would cross up tipsy on Dylan results. If anything, the Dylan rollout will draw some attention away from early Outkast campaigning, but people can deal with 2 things at once.

ice polled title imo

resulting post (rogermexico.), Wednesday, 28 May 2014 21:38 (nine years ago) link

NO

yeah that's silly

mookieproof, Thursday, 29 May 2014 01:34 (nine years ago) link

okay maybe as side polls?

resulting post (rogermexico.), Thursday, 29 May 2014 01:35 (nine years ago) link

More like a Co-Poll, considering the amount of material under consideration (which already dwarfs the Newpies catalogue even before considering AC Newman, Zumpano...)

Damnit Janet Weiss & The Riot Grrriel (C. Grisso/McCain), Thursday, 29 May 2014 01:38 (nine years ago) link

Just as I'd hoped, there was a band named Poll ("Maybe the most famous greek psychedelic folk rock band of the late 60's early 70's era"--skip the maybe, no one's going to argue). Here they are with Ποιος Μπορεί Να Πιστέψει:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aLjRw8FzqqQ

Someone should run a poll. I want to see what they name it.
