Freddie was good! had nice stage presence and energy but it was kind of adorable how he kept looking at his watch nervously, realizing how much time he had left. got him to sign my ESGN shirt afterwards, very nice guy, took time to meet all the fans.

Tech N9ne actually put on a real good show but I knew like 2 of the songs - have like 5 of his albums yet he managed to do mostly stuff I didn't know, despite this. still, he's a good showman, even if yr not into his devilesque speed rap thing.

madgibbs vol. 2 is pretty damn solid, if unspectacular. fake names, practice, and half manne, half cocaine are the standouts imo

the "obscure soul sample & weak drums" version of Madlib does nothing for me and quick listen to this has me under impression that's 95% of it

Yeah was not aware he finally got another shot at a major label release, and this time it's out! Looking forward to hearing it but surprised some of the early Warner singles are not on the album. Special Editions will be coming no doubt.

Gah Joe Rogan cameo wtf. Sadly I read that before I listened to the release, then I listened to that James Blake-produced number — just awful, they both phoned it in. Or quite possibly James Blake ran out of ideas long ago.

So anyway that’s as far as I got so far. Maybe I need a palate cleanser or just some time to reflect and I will be ready to give it a go.
