I love ballad-mode Future so much.

So "Benz Friends" and "Special" are on the album, just not on this stream, correct? Or did the tracklist get shuffled?

"Never Satisfied:" watch out "Beach Is Better," there's a way doper pointlessly short Mike Will Made-It track in town

That fade out in "Never Satisfied" has to be stream-only, right? It's so distracting

on the stream they sent me (which had "special" -- which is amazing -- and "benz friends") "never satisfied" also fades out before the 2 min mark

they did play a full version of that track at a listening thing though \(o_O)/

lol Drake was like "we're cool, you can stay on the tour...i'm not gonna be on the album unless the song is too short to be a single though"

Gah, not knowing what the "right" version of an album is drives me nuts. I always wonder how many album reviews are written around early or incomplete versions of an LP, or leaks with patent flaws or terrible sound or whatever

i feel like that used to happen more often back in the day, stuff like The Source's early review of Nas's I Am, than it does now in the internet era when it's pretty easy to tell if a tracklist hasn't been finalized yet and you don't need a long lead time to get a timely review out there

I feel like with the Internet what gets reviewed is the first thing that leaks, and often that first leak isn't all that good. A few years ago everybody reviewed a version of Take Care that was missing a song, because that was what they had. Then last year everybody reviewed a version of NWTS with atrocious sound. For a lot of people, critics and listeners, that crappy leak will be their only exposure to that album

hmmm I listened to that crappy leak of NWTS I think. can't say I'm compelled to revisit though

i remember American Gangster leaked missing 1 or 2 songs and i wrote a whole article about it based on that and then finally the day of my deadline the last bit of the album surfaced and i was so relieved i could make some small adjustments.

there really isn't much at all of that though, is there? "I Be U" is cool but i always figured he had some "Turn On The Lights"/"Neva End" level stunner in the chamber.

ah i didn't realize this stream has the bonus tracks, "Side Effects" is nice

yeah, disappointed in this besides title track, "I Be U" and Mike Will 2-Minutes...not necessarily a bangers vs. ballads issue cuz I dug both on the previous but the former all feel very empty to me

am still interested in hearing all of "Benz Friendz" out of curiosity for Dre's verse assuming he spits one

nah that track's kind of a mess all around. Although leaving aside the lyric that won't be named (which I see is unsurprisingly censored on the explicit version,) that whole "two cell phones ringin at the same time/two different phones" nonrhyming couplet in particular is pretty bad

idk not a fan of dude's "experimental" chopped-up flows on that and "Sh!t," plus think the beat's kinda irritating. It sounded a little cooler on the radio but that's about it

really i love the entire song but i wouldn't miss pusha's verse

him saying "e-hoes" is prob my least fav moment in rap this year

SPEND MONEY WITH CASIIIINO is an epic ending to an epically shitty verse, i'll give him that
