Any thoughts on best place to stay in Anaheim? Last time we were at the grand Californian. I liked the convenience of being able to walk to the parks, but our room was small and underwhelming given the price. It was a pretty big comedown after spending the previous night in an enormous and beautiful suite at the Venetian in Vegas that was half the price.

With Disney you're paying for convenience. You'll find cheaper and sometimes better accommodations outside WDW and Disneyland but you aren't getting hidden Mickeys.

There's a Holiday Inn on the same block as Disneyland. I stayed there for work years back. I believe they run shuttles over.

I'll be there on Christmas Eve and Christmas god help me, any advice?

Staying in the park gets you access to the free dining promo, if you planned ahead, like us.

We are literally stuck in the Carousel of Progress.

ride started and stopped three times until they just let us all off. Haunted Mansion stopped three times while we were on, too.

We went to Disneyland Paris on Christmas Day one year, and it was packed! and super cold too. And there was a train strike. in other words a typical December day in Paris. (We had season passes so it wasn't a drag at all)

And now we are, again literally, stuck on Space Mountain!

Honestly, we had them put it in an envelope to leave at guest services. If it is not claimed at the end of the day, I think we get to keep it.otherwise, I have a feeling Disney will be making another hundred dollars profit from us.

My nieces will wear princess dresses during my December visit. Leave the $100 for me, Josh.

I should try that next time.

It was a 50, two 20s and some ones, FYI.

The rides kept turfing out when we were at WDW this spring, too. I think everything at Animal Kingdom was on the fritz. And my girlfriend was freaked out enough about her first ride ever on Space Mountain without having to ponder what was causing the queue to stall for twenty minutes.

Hollywood Studios today, where I will be reminded that Disney owns everything but the Smurfs.

Fast pass was essential yesterday, as was the system that allows one parent to wait with a reticence kid, then ride immediately when the other parent returns.also, starting early is key.

Why does stupid Aerosmith get a ride?

Saw a kid freak the hell out at tower of terror, so badly he wouldn't take the exit elevator out!

I've heard rumors for years that they're going to replace Aerosmith with a more contemporary band. I look forward to the 2025 opening of Green Day's Rock N' Roller Coaster.

I am enjoying the play-by-play here, I'm so jealous! We used to get a condo at Lake Buena Vista regularly as a kid. I loved that place!

xp a ride wherein you walk a lonely road. and with each step, it only becomes clearer that you are, in fact, alone. then animatronic billie joe armstrong says your name at the end: "keep walking that lonely road, Darrel. it's the only one you've ever known, Darrel."

Maybe during "Knowledge," they'll bring up members of the crowd and let them operate the roller coaster.

I remember seeing the press conference for the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster (because of course there was a press conference for the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster), and someone asked Steven Tyler if this constituted a sellout move on Aerosmith's part. Tyler naturally got pretty defensive and said something like, "This ain't no corporate slick-dealin' Hollywood showbiz thing. [dramatic pause] This is the Aerosmith Rock 'n' Roller Coaster."

Got it. One of those underground counterculture amusement park rides.
