Really enjoyed her interview on WTF. I'd really love to watch this show someday.

Jessa's storyline was heartbreaking as is, so I can't imagine how good it would be if it didn't revolve around a character that was introduced one episode prior to the finale.

Oh, totally. Even though I disapprove of what she did this is the first episode that made me feel sympathetic toward Jessa. She was doing what seemed to her to be the right thing at a huuuge risk to herself.

tbf, that's likely what she would say about me if her primary introduction to me was seeing me naked on tv every weekend

That was a great thing to say about her forks

This season was really great.

ronnie waitrose (stevie), Friday, 28 March 2014 10:10 (ten years ago) link

It verged on unwatchable for me in the middle episodes but the last four really pulled things out of the fire. Best run the show has had

Number None, Friday, 28 March 2014 10:26 (ten years ago) link

I definitely watched a number of Marnie's scenes through my fingers. Not because they were bad but because she behaves so awfully.

four weeks pass...

Shooting on my block next week. A foreboding demographic "move!"

Now that you mention it, that is rather cute. Didn't realize you had a soft side Morbs.

Hannah: Hey Marnie, my friend is having this killer party at his loft in East New York!
Morbs: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

obv the Adam Sackler character is an unnerving basket case, but Driver is just the hottest escapee from the Ascent of Man diorama I've ever seen.

(I'm curious to see on the S3 DVDs how he went from a half-assed performance artist to a Shavian actor on Broadway in a year)

images of war violence and historical smoking (Dr Morbius), Friday, 2 May 2014 03:22 (nine years ago) link

i am only a critic as it were but adam seems p hot to me too, also i caught myself making his frustration-noise the other day and couldn't tell if it was in male-monkey imitation or not

He's absolutely terrible in the Major Barbara scenes. Unsure if it's intentional or not

the glimmer man (Sufjan Grafton), Friday, 9 May 2014 15:06 (nine years ago) link

He's bad in the Major Barbara scenes and it is intentional but it's not successfull. He doesn't pull it off but that's possibly the directors fault or just the fault of the filming schedule.

one month passes...

Just finally finished S3. I honestly feel like Andrew Rannellis might be the best thing about this show at this point.

'arry Goldman (Hurting 2), Saturday, 12 July 2014 04:02 (nine years ago) link

They really went all-in on the Hannah and Marnie being terrible people thing huh

'arry Goldman (Hurting 2), Saturday, 12 July 2014 05:04 (nine years ago) link

i've had the last five episodes on my tivo since they aired; the season they all got jobs and started boring lives was the season they lost my attention

I didn't know Andrew Rannells was in the original cast of The Book of Mormon; he's replacing NP Harris as Hedwig on Broadway in a few weeks. He massively irritates me.

I didn't believe that. It made her decision too simple. Art or Mammon? Hmm, which shall it be? In reality people do both. I suppose I've never believed her memoir sounded good or necessary so I found her puritanical response especially hard to take.

not if they want to be any good at one of them

rap steve gadd (D-40), Monday, 1 September 2014 14:13 (nine years ago) link

Her NYer piece last week was alright if a bit by the numbers. Not sure what she expects us to take away from it. Seems a bit like writing as therapy. Which is fine, but keep it to yourself. When you share that kind of stuff, does it lose its efficacy?
