for all who were concerned, i did watch the first two eps of this thing. it seemed like really well put-together, clever, girl-centric children's entertainment.

so, all the characters are female? (apart from the little dragon sidekick). that the whole world of this thing is given as female is really interesting.

i have a completely unfounded theory that this is the hook for the adolescent and post-adolescent fandom of the show among young men (incl. the creepo sex fans). thinking of your archetypical misfit male in a junior high environment and beyond, could this be one of their few positive encounters with femininity?

All of the main characters are female, and it's a largely female-populated world, but there are lots of male secondary characters.

Went to a country bar to go line dancing with a girl on Friday, and there was a herd of bronies there – a dude wearing a "I'm a brony, deal with it" T-shirt and then three girls wearing various other MLP-related stuff. Wasn't expecting that.
