Scott what else 2013-2014 is good. After the crazy boxed set deal I kinda stopped paying attention for a bit.

new three-disc live fushitsusha + peter brotzmann set is FANTASTIC. sounds so good. well worth the money. it's 30 bucks...

I still like this label, though, because of my own tastes, I preferred their earlier days when they were more jazz, less noise. Some of those early brown-packaged jazz CDs of ridiculously small runs (75, 125, etc) were so good. The Rempis Percussion Quartet's "Circular Logic" remains one of my favorite jazz albums ever (for some weird reason).

So I flat out love this label and I am pretty sad to hear that the wife of the guy who runs it just died, leaving behind two young kids as well (a 12 yo son and 9 yo daughter). There is a 4 and a 1/2 hour benefit album linked below and a gofundme if anyone feels like supporting. :-\

Yeah Keith documented her passing very movingly on Facebook, and seeing this happen is a lovely tribute.
