I liked HnC and thought the singles from this have been really disappointing :/

This doesn't have draggy stretches like HnC, but the highs are a lot lower

There aint no Hands on The Wheel on it but I still think it is a better album than HnC. Glad to see other people liked HnC, I always thought it was mostly reviled on here.

i didn't really like the song w/him and raekwon which seems like a massively bad sign

"collard greens" is a really underrated single imo, really fun song

A few great tracks, mostly near the beginning, but he should never ever ever attempt sex raps/content ever. Mostly I don't find him interesting enough a character to spend most of an hour+ with.

Listening again, but I really can`t imagine how anyone could enjoy "Studio" or "Hell of a Night." There are some half-dece tracks marred by either Q himself ("What They Want," "Oxymoron") or the guest (Tyler on "The Purge").

Hoover Street is Q's most poignant work yet, some of the imagery in there seems very personal. Kinda love it as well, the beats are alltime dark.

I wasn't that into "Collard Greens" until I heard it out the other night and now I love it

It's kinda like every other SQ album in that the highs are crazy high but everything else is just ok

"Man of the Year" is one my singles of the year, "Studio" more problematic.

One of the things I think is really cool about this album is that when it reaches for an "old school west coast" sound, its model seems to be DJ Muggs rather than Dr. Dre

"Studio" still horrific, how was "Los Awesome" not a single instead

"Studio" somehow feels longer and slower every time I hear it. Relieved that it's finally fading from radio rotation.

"Studio" is a funny song, like few rappers have ever sounded more "the label needs a single, this'll work" half-assed rapping on an R&B track, his verses all end with awkward trainwrecks, but it's still kind of hot. and went #1 a few months after he practically disowned everything radio-friendly on his album and whined that he wished he never signed with a major.

I don't think Q sounds good on it, but I don't think he's the problem, either. Every cover or mixtape freestyle I've heard of the song has been a slog, too. Something about the beat/pacing just sucks the life out of whoever is rapping over it.

I fux with "Studio". It sounds good on the radio.
