^ love that, but prefer the young marco remix personally. one of his best, though i like most everything he's put out

also feeling all this lord of the isles

hug niceman (psychgawsple), Wednesday, 12 February 2014 23:48 (ten years ago) link

young marco is prob my fav dj/producer right now. i've been devouring his mixes and trainspotting them shamelessly. where the hell is his LP that was supposed to come out on ESP last summer?

Kassem Mosse's new album on Workshop is out (via hardwax atm, vinyl and digi), predictably great stuff. there's a short version (edit?) of the gorgeous title track from Staat Aus Glas from last year on there.

A3 is a piece of beauty.

maybe track of the year so far for me

dan138zig (Durrr Durrr Durrrrrr), Wednesday, 5 March 2014 03:53 (ten years ago) link

That Kassem Mosse album is so fucking good.

xelab, Wednesday, 5 March 2014 08:21 (ten years ago) link

I'm panicking as on third listen it still hasn't sinked in me :(

dan138zig (Durrr Durrr Durrrrrr), Wednesday, 5 March 2014 08:48 (ten years ago) link

Yeah, I had it on in the background the other day and nothing really grabbed me. That said, I think it's probably something that would be great to have on vinyl and actually mix.

Had the same realization reading the Actress thread the other day, hadn't really considered how great those track would be to work with on different speeds with other records.

MikoMcha, Wednesday, 5 March 2014 12:33 (ten years ago) link

Sorry if that seems completely obvious btw! I just don't buy vinyl as much as I used to these days :(

MikoMcha, Wednesday, 5 March 2014 12:36 (ten years ago) link

I am actually quite stunned by this K Mosse album, it must be just what I need at the moment.

xelab, Wednesday, 5 March 2014 17:50 (ten years ago) link

This one is awesome.

this noisy track by an act called garnier, called rise and fall of the donkey dog, is all kinds of great.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LNTCiwQyQoc

it is techno, i guess. a very noisy techno.

one of the best tracks of the year so far

b-side is awesome, too

That's an incredible track, tyft

yep i definitely dig that one

I like this new one on L.I.E.S., willie burns and entro senestre

https://soundcloud.com/l-i-e-s/daywalker-cf-supersonic

dmr, Tuesday, 18 March 2014 15:57 (ten years ago) link

Yeah, that's great. One of the best things I've heard from the label.

MikoMcha, Tuesday, 18 March 2014 18:18 (ten years ago) link

another month another awesome willie burns thing

hug niceman (psychgawsple), Tuesday, 18 March 2014 19:34 (ten years ago) link

same with legowelt, his new ep on PPU is reliably solid if a little more downtempo than usual

hug niceman (psychgawsple), Tuesday, 18 March 2014 19:54 (ten years ago) link

"more bad news" was always one of my fave l.i.e.s. cuts so of course i'm into this too:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gryraT6Xh8g

goes nuts for a while but there's a really nice release afterward, not too far from that industrial techno + prettiness sweet spot that gesolten cirkel usually hits for me

+ new hinode is outstanding, out of print everywhere already tho

cog, Tuesday, 18 March 2014 23:30 (ten years ago) link

L.I.E.S. is up to 47 (plus) releases already! That seems like an incredibly fast release date for vinyl these days.

Chewshabadoo, Wednesday, 19 March 2014 01:12 (ten years ago) link

the Low Jack album on LIES is quite interesting http://hardwax.com/70213/low-jack/garifuna-variations/

'Crickets Dance' is the highlight for me.

new one on future times is nice

hashman deejay - tangerine

karl...arlk...rlka...lkar..., Saturday, 22 March 2014 23:14 (ten years ago) link

^ i posted about that on the future times thread, probably other threads too. love that one

everything i've heard so far from the mood hut collective has been rad - the two future times 12"s, aquarian foundation stuff from last year, cloudface, and a few releases from pender street steppers (one on ppu, others on the mood hut label).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a3tcw3JFCBs

this shit is sorta exactly what i want right now, a lot of awesome panflutey new age textures and references to vibey 90s deep house. nothing groundbreaking but MORE pls

hug niceman (psychgawsple), Monday, 24 March 2014 16:37 (ten years ago) link

Holy shit @ that Terrence Parker album, just straight in there, no pissing about, banger after banger after banger. The final three tracks are just huge.

Think I actually prefer it to the new Moodymann which has loads of great moments but feels kinda diffuse and meandering as a whole.

Matt DC, Monday, 24 March 2014 18:58 (ten years ago) link

Ten years of phonica comp is jams packed

It's like 30 tracks / 90% gems

Ordered that yesterday. Love this little label's style.

andrew m., Tuesday, 25 March 2014 15:19 (ten years ago) link

"pentecost" off that terrence parker album >>>>>

lex pretend, Tuesday, 25 March 2014 15:28 (ten years ago) link

I love most of it (especially Open Up Your Spirit) but Pentecost was the one that had me involuntarily pulling faces on the train.

Matt DC, Tuesday, 25 March 2014 15:30 (ten years ago) link

yeah it's a vg album, feels nicely timed with the upcoming fantastic roy davis jr one (that got zero interest when i bumped his thread)

lex pretend, Tuesday, 25 March 2014 15:32 (ten years ago) link

Terrence Parker album reminds me a lot of the Floorplan album, highly recommended.

boxedjoy, Wednesday, 26 March 2014 11:05 (ten years ago) link

Good grief! That Parker album is dynamite!

xelab, Wednesday, 26 March 2014 13:13 (ten years ago) link

agreed.

i just received hardcore traxx: dance mania and the my love is underground compilation. the former has been big-upped here a few times. the latter is consistently great, banging, classy 90s house.

mattresslessness, Wednesday, 26 March 2014 20:56 (ten years ago) link

i'm djing in a few weeks and i'm tempted to play like 90% of it, only leaving out the dark 80s chicago track (project democracy ft china - is this dream for real? (psychedub)) because that one belongs in a very dark basement.

mattresslessness, Wednesday, 26 March 2014 21:02 (ten years ago) link

really very into "jimmy" by romare

and just discovered his two previous EPs as well
