He is a twice-divorced, 42-year-old television comedy writer dealing with the women in his life who quits his unfulfilling job. even before I knew the allegations, something about the niece scenes in Crimes and Misdemeanors -- otherwise one of my favorite films btw -- struck me as *off*.

you can appreciate a person's work, or aspects of it, while acknowledging they're horrible humans. honoring the person, rather than the work, while they're present implies more approval of the person than I think some people are comfortable with.
