i'm djing locally. i start my set just after the midnight countdown. what should i play first?

Hadn't really been out dancing in a while until this weekend. I think my tolerance for London nights is waning. It's the same problems of the last few years really - crap temporary venues, lack of organisation, but most of all the people. Why charge around the dance floor back and forth pushing people? Why get so out of it you can't stand up so fall into other dancers? If your friend does this you have a duty to help them. I had a good night at Netil House on Saturday but that was really due to being with good friends and Sonja Moonear's set. Fantastic DJ. Would definitely go out more often if there weren't these issues.

Come and try our night on the 22nd in Dalston. We only have a tiny sweatbox venue which holds 50, and only an OK soundsystem, but we keep it free, have a great atmosphere, friendly crowd (mostly mates, word of mouth and some posts in select places) and most importantly great tunes. The Nest is a bit of a hellhole tbh. Started off kinda interesting but then they went all out with their trashy Dalstonite aesthetic.

The Hydra's schedule for the rest of the year is pretty impressive - http://the-hydra.net/#events - though tbh I think I've lost the taste for big name events.

Hehe, my friend DJs at The Nest, I’ve never been though. We have Mark Forshaw playing for us in the basement of Olive, N16 7PL, near the 24 hour bagel place. 9-3am Free Entry. I’m going to be playing a very slow warm-up set from 9.

London makes life very difficult, a reasonable venue pops up once in a while but its usually only a matter of time before its stopped. There's a good space on one of the side streets off Mare St but its already had quite a good innings so I dont know how much longer it has

Sad to see Plastic People go, though I always found that venue hard work

Can I spam you all with my next event? Really excited to be doing our first party out of a bar and in an industrial unit. Nice never-before-used space 1 minute from Hoxton.
