Sibelius Symphony No.3 - the whole thing really but the first movement is especially snowy, flying over the landscape music.

Pretty much any Pantha Du Prince works in the snow but the newest one with the Bell Laboratory especially so:

^^^ Wrapped up warm inside music. Listen with hot chocolate with brandy in it.
Also, Vespertine in its entirety obviously.

This Pantha du Prince & The Bell Laboratory is almost exactly what I've been looking for. All I remember of Pantha du Prince is that he did a track or two with Panda Bear, which made me reluctant to further check him out. I know that's a really shitty way to go about listening to music, but I just find those guys so distasteful.
Anyway, thanks. You've opened my mind.

Thurston Moore/Tom Surgal "Lydia's Moth" (really beautiful duo)
also, Thurston's guitar bits on the Heavy motion picture soundtrack, especially "Victor and Callie". used to lead off a lot of mix tapes with that track, and/or "Blossom" by The Folk Implosion

I like the cover art, though. I was hopeful.
Lithops - umi unit has some gorgeous, warm and groovy tracks. along the same lines, Microstoria Model 3, Step 2 sets up an ultra-warm, fragmented, and melody-rich atmosphere - there's a strong plasticity and fluid quality of action to the sound structures.
