I've been working through this list. It's actually pretty good.

For some reason this is something I only listen to when it is cold out, and works right along with the Guaraldi Peanuts tunes as go-to Winter music. Definitely is chiming and atmospheric:

that's a really good one, grandavis.

I have listened to it about 5 times in a row, it is just the best.

John Luther Adams

John Luther Adams (born January 23, 1953 in Meridian, Mississippi) is an American composer whose music is inspired by nature, especially the landscapes of Alaska where he has lived since 1978.[1]

Roedelius's Selbsportrait albums work well for the mood I'm trying to evoke

Sibelius Symphony No.3 - the whole thing really but the first movement is especially snowy, flying over the landscape music.

Pretty much any Pantha Du Prince works in the snow but the newest one with the Bell Laboratory especially so:

^^^ Wrapped up warm inside music. Listen with hot chocolate with brandy in it.

Also, Vespertine in its entirety obviously.

Had never heard Pantha Du Prince before, really liking that. Thanks.

This is a pretty good one, especially latter half of the tune:

i always thought oni ayhun - oar003b worked really well for wintery-chimey vibes, and i was gonna mention that pantha du prince / bell labs thing too

This Pantha du Prince & The Bell Laboratory is almost exactly what I've been looking for. All I remember of Pantha du Prince is that he did a track or two with Panda Bear, which made me reluctant to further check him out. I know that's a really shitty way to go about listening to music, but I just find those guys so distasteful.

Anyway, thanks. You've opened my mind.

Any inspiration from the current weather?

Well, it is bright, sunny and warmer here, so I would say Laraaji's "Day of Radiance".

that oval is nice. ovalprocess is the only album of his that i've really embraced, though "do while" is sublime.

we got another, heavier (5 inches on the benches) snowstorm last night in the Salt Lake Valley. even though i'm not a native, "we don't get storms like we used to." - i hope that changes.

https://soundcloud.com/leheron_idletones/it-snowed-feet-are-cold-version

usually break this track out, every time we get our first storm
