that patch is too new (and looks like a cheap knockoff) and her jacket is ugh quilted, I am giving her low marks for that

I like the ones where the patches are collaged without much visible denim rather than evenly spaced ~just so~ bcz even though I'm usually all about symmetry they kinda scream OCD to me

FYI: vintage patches go for $$ if you ever seen any somewhere.

I have two of these, but I always called them "crust vests", not Battle Jackets- maybe that's just me? I dunno.

Maryland DeathFest had so many great, crazy ass examples of this "extreme metal craft", where some dude from a small town in like Alabama had color coded ones, like one with all orange n black fonted metal logos that he wore on one day, and another that was all blue and black and white logos on another day- very OCD and obsessive.

My friend Jane has a killer vest that has a giant Kate Bush back patch on it, truly rad. Wish I had a pic cuz it's a beauty.

Also: what about crustpunk stylings where it's on a plaid shirt or a black military jacket rather than denim? I see that a lot at shows.

Dunno if this counts but Griff1n (S3wn Leather guy) made some Whitehouse back-patches and I put mine on a men's winter coat with a big raccoon fur collar. My cat Puck is positioned for scale:

i always like when people just cut the front of a t-shirt into a square and pin it to the back of a jacket. but i'm lazy like that. and those are bitchin', dr*w. truly. they look awesome.

i used to write on my jean jackets with black magic marker. band names. scrawl stuff. and i would put stickers on my boots. crass. conflict. that kinda thing. but never patches. buttons. crusty buttons. flux, rudimentary peni, etc. i just saw an old jacket of mine in the closet and the only thing on it was a metal young gods pin. that would have been early 90's though.

patches always seemed like a lot of work. sharpie & liquid paper was as close as i ever got
