Kitten heel is definitely the way to go!
I got (will get when they are delivered) those boots from office. As per most of my cool boots/shoes!
toe cleavage, c or d?

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Wednesday, 15 October 2003 07:15 (twenty years ago) link

What is a kitten heel?

I need help in this regard, because I don't like heels either. I used to be able to get away with a Cuban Heel, which I could actually balance in, but these days it just makes my feet hurt.

I've GOT to find something to wear on my feet that isn't trainers or hiking boots! (I forgot about my hiking boots until Ed reminded me, but I only ever wear them in Wiltshire.)

kate (kate), Wednesday, 15 October 2003 07:59 (twenty years ago) link

Yesterday we bought some new boots for me. In the shop was a man buying some totally SM kinky leathah high heeled boots for himself.

nathalie (nathalie), Wednesday, 15 October 2003 08:01 (twenty years ago) link

Those look bloody awkward. How do walk? That seems a very strange place to put the centre of gravity for a shoe. The foot is such a well-designed machine! Why f*ck with it in that way?

kate (kate), Wednesday, 15 October 2003 08:09 (twenty years ago) link

What I need is what I used to call "Ballet shoes" which were like posh shoes on top, but with no heel at all. WHat are they called?

kate (kate), Wednesday, 15 October 2003 08:09 (twenty years ago) link

I will not wear cowboy boots. I no longer live on a farm, thank you.

The top two are close, but why oh why do they have the heel of the foot balanced on a little tiny spike like that? The heel of the foot is a precision machine, don't make it balance on a pin. I want something similar to that, but with the heel bit flat horizontally, rather than flat vertically, if you see what I mean?

kate (kate), Wednesday, 15 October 2003 08:23 (twenty years ago) link

Yes! much better! Bravo! I actually looked at the first of your "got these ones" at the Brunswick Centre, but HSA rejected them. :-( I really like the one with the buckle, but then again, I just like buckles.

kate (kate), Wednesday, 15 October 2003 08:40 (twenty years ago) link

Hooray!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Wednesday, 15 October 2003 08:42 (twenty years ago) link

I bought some more shoes!! NOT the green ones I was after, but another pair by Fly - they're beige, with a kind of patch and strap motif and a discreet sole. If their webiste wasn't so appallingly designed I'd find a picture.

Mark C (Mark C), Wednesday, 15 October 2003 12:08 (twenty years ago) link

What about a link mark?

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Wednesday, 15 October 2003 12:13 (twenty years ago) link

I've been trying to find one!

Try here - be warned that the site seems dodgy and takes an age to load.

Mark C (Mark C), Wednesday, 15 October 2003 12:18 (twenty years ago) link

Nice. (it didnt seem to take any time at all to load up!)

two weeks pass...
I feel sick that I hadn't noticed this thread before. All shoe threads should send an automatic alert to me - can this be arranged?

Lara (Lara), Sunday, 2 November 2003 18:55 (twenty years ago) link

Mark C - your shoes look like they have been made my handicapped people.

Lara (Lara), Sunday, 2 November 2003 19:02 (twenty years ago) link

And have soles made of marzipan?

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Sunday, 2 November 2003 19:03 (twenty years ago) link

your handicapped people?

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Sunday, 2 November 2003 19:05 (twenty years ago) link

That would make them slightly more attractive.

Lara (Lara), Sunday, 2 November 2003 19:05 (twenty years ago) link

Cheers then.

At first I was wary, but now that I've lived in London for almost two months those clan-of-the-cavebear-esque boots that every girl in sight wears are starting to look comfortable and appealing. (See PinkPanther's boots upthread for visual representation).

Mandee (Jerrynipper), Sunday, 2 November 2003 19:14 (twenty years ago) link

I fear those boots. They look comfy like fleeces look comfy but it's not going to happen is it?

Lara (Lara), Sunday, 2 November 2003 19:18 (twenty years ago) link

They would do my calves no favours.

Lara (Lara), Sunday, 2 November 2003 19:19 (twenty years ago) link

I didn't know you had a livestock.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Sunday, 2 November 2003 19:20 (twenty years ago) link

Didn't you?

Lara (Lara), Sunday, 2 November 2003 19:21 (twenty years ago) link

I already said.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Sunday, 2 November 2003 19:21 (twenty years ago) link

So you think I'm a liar, eh?

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Sunday, 2 November 2003 19:22 (twenty years ago) link

Skottie, Sunday, 2 November 2003 22:48 (twenty years ago) link

my new, much longed-for white clark wallabies give me blisters something awful. isn't the comfort factor a major reason to wear clarks? does this get better? anyone with clark experience want to comment?

lauren (laurenp), Sunday, 2 November 2003 23:07 (twenty years ago) link

no experience I'm afraid, but my boots are really comfy if that helps?! ;-)

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 3 November 2003 09:13 (twenty years ago) link

I bought these in NYC, from Nine West. It was practically two US pairs for the price of one UK!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 3 November 2003 09:42 (twenty years ago) link

SHOES!!

I haven't bought any new ones, but I still like to wank over them in shops.

Mark C (Mark C), Monday, 3 November 2003 14:28 (twenty years ago) link

thanks, pink! that is super-helpful as i sit here in pain!

lauren (laurenp), Monday, 3 November 2003 14:36 (twenty years ago) link

Mark C, how many shoe stores have you been banned from?

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 3 November 2003 14:39 (twenty years ago) link

sorry, i am just informing those who doubted the slouch boots. (sorry you're in pain!)

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 3 November 2003 14:39 (twenty years ago) link

I saw some old runway shows yesterday where they showed the Chanel fall 2003 leather leggings; I really want them!

teeny (teeny), Monday, 3 November 2003 14:45 (twenty years ago) link

kate, i just got some ballet flats that are real flats with rubber soles by rocket dog. i got them at a store in camden, but i assume they're available everywhere.

also, i'm with you on the comfort thing. my best purchase last winter was a pair of birkenstock boots. sounds sketchy, but i think they look nice. they're black dressy boots, flat, with birkenstock insoles. much more comfortable than other boots i've tried, and they look much more dressy than trainers or other boots. they were pretty expensive, but it was worth it, and they're holding up very well.

colette (a2lette), Monday, 3 November 2003 14:50 (twenty years ago) link

If anyone knows a location for pale pink shoes pls inform. I saw some in topshop which were pale pink with glittery bits!!! but they were only left in size 3. this is a chiz.

wow. beautiful.

I am becoming a bit of a stan of the company - wish the shoes didn't take months to arrive, but I guess that's why you pay what you pay for them.

ten months pass...
ten months pass...

Just ordered my first ever pair of Chukkas. I used to be sort of against them, but I need some kind of non-black, semi-casual office shoe that goes with a lot of stuff. Guess we'll see how they look in person.

Yeah, those turned out bad and I'm returning them. Color is really ugly in person, less red and more tan than pictured, and I'm not sure the chukka shape suits me anyway (I feel like in pics they're always shown with extremely slim leg pants, jeans that are hemmed high, and I have thick calves and can't wear super slim-legged pants without looking like I'm wearing tights.

Seems like tons of mens shoes are out of stock rn. Supply chain I suppose.
