weirdly Adam Pally seems to be the one sliding into the most post HE work via the Zach Galifinakis "goofy comedic sidekick" door (for example, his appearance in Iron Man 3)

I also hope all 6 of them continue to hang out and party together once the show ends

AMERICA IS ABOUT RESSLING (DJP), Friday, 17 May 2013 18:48 (ten years ago) link

pally said that the iron man 3 cameo was due to previous work with RDjr, not because of happy endings or other exposure: http://splitsider.com/2013/05/adam-pally-explains-how-he-ended-up-in-iron-man-3/

congratulations (n/a), Friday, 17 May 2013 19:32 (ten years ago) link

ha that's awesome

I hope he manages a cameo in every RDjr project from here on out

TBS and NBC are being floated as possibilities, but I'm not optimistic.

Tarfumes The Escape Goat, Saturday, 1 June 2013 17:34 (ten years ago) link

Yeah, I'm pretending I didn't even read that.

Ⓓⓡ. (Johnny Fever), Saturday, 1 June 2013 17:46 (ten years ago) link

Right now, my main concern is whether or not S3 gets a dvd release. I have the dvds for S1 and S2, so don't leave me hangin'!

Ⓓⓡ. (Johnny Fever), Saturday, 1 June 2013 17:47 (ten years ago) link

i'm sure they'll do dvd, tbh i had little hope for usa, always seemed another way of abc washing its hands of canceling a show crits loved (same w/ that 'save happy endings' campaign). at least one of the writers jumped ship (i want to say modern family but that might be just cuz i knew megan ganz left community for modern family).

Boo. Would rather have this back than Harmon on Community.

Chuck_Tatum, Sunday, 2 June 2013 16:57 (ten years ago) link

Wasn't this show on Netflix streaming a few months ago? i bugged a friend to watch it...

Nhex, Monday, 3 June 2013 16:56 (ten years ago) link

I don't think it's been on Netflix instant.

This show is the apotheosis of the "it gets better, HONESTLY" shows. Where else can I go for non-sequitur jokes about Lexis-Nexis?

Chuck_Tatum, Monday, 3 June 2013 18:51 (ten years ago) link

haha, true on both marks. people stay skeptical getting through that first season....

Nhex, Monday, 3 June 2013 19:13 (ten years ago) link

There's a super strong argument for watching season 2 first; the season 1 episodes read much, much better in retrospect

they are either militarists (ugh) or kangaroos (?) (DJP), Monday, 3 June 2013 19:17 (ten years ago) link

Sony couldn't find a taker, and the cast's contracts expire today.

Happy Endings, you were a good television show. R.I.P.

Ⓓⓡ. (Johnny Fever), Saturday, 29 June 2013 01:55 (ten years ago) link

:(. One of my favorite comedies, damn it.

Coupe better land in another sweet gig, cuz she brought the lols. As did they all.

Neanderthal, Saturday, 29 June 2013 02:26 (ten years ago) link

yeah i feel like she has the most potential to have a nice career ahead of her. Wayans Jr. was so perfect for this show that it's almost like, you know he'll never have a better vehicle.

some dude, Saturday, 29 June 2013 02:30 (ten years ago) link

R.I.P. creepy Damon Wayans doll

http://www.burgerbusiness.com/?p=15334

Jason Boso was ahead of the pack in 2006 when he and fellow culinary-school grads Quincy Hart and Steve Thompson co-founded Twisted Root Burger Co. in Dallas, one of the early high-quality, chef-driven burger bars. Last weekend Boso opened his latest concept, Truck Yard, in a 15,000-square-foot lot in Dallas’s Lower Greenville neighborhood. The place is like a sprawling backyard with picnic tables, fire puts and a converted mechanic’s shed turned bar and Steak Me Home Tonight, where they’re cooking sliced rib-eye cheesesteak sandwiches. BurgerBusiness.com pulled Boso away from the cheesesteak grill for a few minutes to give the lowdown on Truck Yard and its meaning for Twisted Root.

I've seen muffin tops in bakeries and wondered whether they come about from the Seinfeld episode.

Still got the last two episodes saved unwatched, to break out in emergency ice cream/TV/loneliness moment

Good news! S3 is available at Amazon.
Bad news! It's apparently a feature free, made on demand, dvd-r set. And it's $40.

two months pass...

So they're marathon airing this on VH1 today (of all places). I'm so envious for my friend who's seeing it for the first time.

Cereal. Killed it. No spoon. (Johnny Fever), Wednesday, 1 January 2014 18:23 (ten years ago) link

Yeah, it started last night, watched about 5 episodes, none of which I'd seen before. Apparently, I missed the whole first season or something. But damn, shit was hilarious right out of the gate.

Montgomery Burns' Jazz (Tarfumes The Escape Goat), Wednesday, 1 January 2014 18:38 (ten years ago) link

yeah i was home last night and realized the marathon was on around 11pm, and other than tuning to one of the major networks for the NYE countdown i just had Happy Endings on for like 3 hours straight last night

ol' Wrink P's thinkpiece (some dude), Wednesday, 1 January 2014 18:45 (ten years ago) link

Alex definitely took a while to become hilarious but otherwise the show was funny right out of the gate
