i don't know if the following is true, but chew on this comment from tucson weekly:

Her real name is Amanda Patricia Bossingham.

The court ordered her to pay $36,294.95 in restitution. Ms. Bossingham plead guilty to submitting an application for a line of credit with M & I Bank using the social security number of another person. The Bank approved the line of credit in the amount of $15,000.

On June 15, 2004, the Court sentenced her to fourteen months prison. (she appealed, but eventually lost, reported to prison in Oct, 7, 2008)

OTM, this was amazing television and one of the greatest villains ever to grace the small screen... but now I really can't shake the tension in my shoulders now, everything in my entire life that has ever made me want to scream out loud in public has come rushing back to me.

In case you missed it in the Kitchen Nightmares thread

Salomon “Samy” Bouzaglo, who owns Amy’s Baking Company along with his wife, Amy, is involved in a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement case to revoke his residency status, his lawyer said Tuesday. Scottsdale immigration lawyer David Asser said the case against his client started two years ago and was the subject of a removal hearing Monday.

On Tuesday, Amy’s opened to a thin crowd and began serving those holding reservations at 5 p.m., using security guards to prevent gawkers, media and others without reservations from entering. The restaurant had a sign saying its patio was closed for security reasons. The reopening appeared to be running without incident for the first wave of diners. Some onlookers showed up hoping to snag a reservation, but most were turned away. The nearby Pita Jungle restaurant appeared to be drawing more business than Amy’s.

Two star review posted a YEAR after dining at local soul food restaurant.
Seriously, fuck you lady

Apologies on this late review...
It's actually been awhile (like a year!) since we ate here.
Hopefully, Broadway Soul Food has improved.

Located in a not-so-good part of town with only street parking,
my guy and I were the first customers on a weekday morning
around 11am. I don't know why we wanted Soul Food early in the day.
His idea and I'm open to suggestions. After all Soul Food = Comfort Food.
Right?

Broadway Soul Food is kinda strange. It's an off-shoot of a politically/socially involved beautiful Black woman (sorry, I don't do the African American thang),
who wanted to extend herself further. No fault with that... but....
...this enterprise lacks.
When my guy and I were there, the decor was confusing.
On first impression, a charming small bistro with glass delicatessen counter,
(and a huge open room behind) But the wall art was all on this woman's accomplishments and other strong Black women's goings-on.
I am totally all for empowerment but not when I'm dining.
Please separate business and politics from pleasure.

The young man on hand was extremely charming, helpful, and personable.
There was a lot of down time from placing our orders to receiving them
and we conversed (I ask a lot of questions).
I discover the owner of Broadway Soul Food also owns the bail bonds next door.
Kinda strange, with so much activity, why invest in a restaurant, too?

What my guy and I wanted on the menu was not available early
morning. I settled for Smothered Steak and Macaroni, my guy Chicken,
Black Eyed Peas, and Greens. The Black Eyed Peas tasted a little off,
the rice and gravy accompanying my steak was the same, a little off.
The Steak I was informed was actually cut from a roast and not a steak.
Chewy, overcooked, generally disappointing.
The Macaroni however was excellent... cheesy, thick, and delicious.
The Greens were very good.

But... this was over a year ago.
I really hope Broadway Soul Food has improved.
Too many irons in the fire does not make a good eating establishment.

This thing is so full of backhanded pissy asides I don't even know where to start

no, all you can do is say if it's useful, funny, or cool. i don't know if you have to be a member to do that though, i've never actually tried because it's so useless, unfunny, and uncool that these people can say this shit without accountability.

Our waiter (who shall go nameless since he never gave it to us) was certainly knowledgeable but very aloof. And if I can't name my waiter after a 2.5 hr meal, that doesn't leave me with a great taste in my mouth.

After reading all of the great reviews I decided to book an appointment. My previous hair stylist is currently out on maternity leave and my roots were getting pretty long. I didn't want to keep up with the highlights I had before so I asked for a solid color. I showed the stylist a picture of exactly what I wanted which was a lighter brown with a touch of red. I was going for an auburn. I ended up with red hair. I was clearly not happy with it and she half heartedly offered to throw some brown over it. I've never been the kind of girl to put up a fuss so I told her to just leave it.

She then spent the next 5 min trimming my hair. When she started to blow dry I realized she was kind of doing a lazy job. She ran a round brush through it and didn't even really turn the ends under/over. I even told her that the blow dry was my favorite part of getting my hair done because I am so helpless when it comes to drying my own hair. She didn't take the hint.

I admit its my own fault for not asking what the price would be when I booked the appointment, but had I known I would be charged $150 for a trim, single color with no highlights, and a blow job my 10 year old sister could do better I definitely would have had said something at the time. I ended up putting a couple of boxes hair color from target in to fix it.

I left the salon unhappy. It was extremely overpriced, the blow dry was bad, and the color was nowhere near what I asked for. I do not recommend.
