thought this was absolutely breathtaking from a visual perspective, kinda crappy otherwise

there were some really effective scenes tho... the first one where the girls are in the pool springs to mind

but yeah the colors in this movie are unreal

This is enough to push just about any movie to the 90th percentile for me, though I think there's a lot more going on beyond that in this case.

this is great. if nothing else the funniest movie i've seen in a few years

otm: i saw it in a suburban theater at 10pm with only abt 40-45 other ppl, but when the britney piano sequence started it was the most laughter i've heard since borat on opening weekend

throughout the movie i was like damn skeillex must have listened to a ton of cliff martinez before he sat down to score this, until i saw the credits lol

i def went in with too many expectations and wasn't really in to it at first but once i kicked back and just let it do its thing i really was enraptured with it. with the multiple voiceovers and floaty non-linear editing its really much closer to malick than any obvious mann/depalma/tarantino comparisons (or korine for that matter), but a bizarro world malick where ~oneness~ is replaced by ~endless tension~

gucci was great, couldn't help but imagine how better it would have been with the almost-happened riff raff appearance

just thinking about franco going 'spring breaaakkk... spring breaakkk....' is making me crack up

I'm not sure Korine's editing tack of endless looping did much for me on this. Think it woulda been better served as a medium length piece (like a lot of other full-length pics.)

I am on vacation with a friend, just saw this, and am gonna say "spring breeeeak" at each other the next couple of days.

yeah the piano scene had me in stitches.

also loved the scene that seemed like franco's take on 'in brazil bad bitch stripper'

i kinda wish korine wasn't so heavy handed with the ironic voiceovers, obv the visuals are inescapably engorged, let them do their thing

like i kinda wish michael bay had directed this instead

i really dug the orchestral version of scary monters and nice sprites at the end

probably because they showed the trailer for 'pain & gain' before this

also mega lols @ them showing the trailer for the bling ring before this. 1.) they know their audience 2.) people are probably gonna peg it as a spring breakers rip even tho it was probably in production before spring breakers
