Good stuff here, Siouxsie over Kate, though I thought "Cities In Dust" came out in 86?

I remember living through this year and thinking it was boring, but this list looks better than 1984's.

1: Lisa Lisa
2. Madonna
3. Kate Bush, "Running Up That Hill"
4. Siouxsie

I meant Madonna, "Into the Groove" of course

Seriously, if you were driving around listening to the radio in the summer of '85 you'd be hearing stuff like "St. Elmo's Fire" by John Parr and "Go For Soda" by Kim Mitchell and "Power of Love" by Huey Lewis. It wasn't a good time.

"Go for Soda"!

1985 was the first year where i discovered my music. before this year it was just pop radio type of stuff or what my friends (at the time) listened to. this was the year i started to buy records. a brand new world opened up and i was hooked. i liked music before but now i loved music because for the first time it really was mine.

Going to have to go with "Don't You (Forget About Me)." One of the best drum sounds in history. Love the drum machine & synth version in THE BREAKFAST CLUB, as well.

Voted to Whitney, for pure pop pleasure.

so i said: "Running Up That Hill" (which knowing ILM, will probably walk in this poll).

:-)

which, truth be told, i forgot about "West End Girls" after posting that remark, i thought maybe it would give Kate Bush a run for her money.
