1st Season Winter 1995

"Are We Having Fun Yet?"

Hope and Gloria strike up a tentative friendship, complicated when Gloria realizes that the man coming on to her in the laundry room of their apartment building is Hope's husband.

"No Degrees of Separation"

The presence of Dennis, a spiked cake, and Louis's amorous cousin Pete snuff out Hope's birthday plans for a quiet dinner party, her first since her separation.

"Salon, It's Been Good to Know You"

Hope's plan to get Gloria a job as hair stylist on the show becomes complicated as the temperamental Isaac first quits to move to South America, then returns unexpectedly - just after Gloria has quit her job at the salon where she's worked for nine years. It's up to Hope to convince Gloria's caustic former boss Cookie to take her back. Meanwhile, Louis stays over at Gloria's to tend ailing Sonny.

"A Fine ROM-ance"

Goaded by Dennis into finding a men man via computer, Hope drags a reluctant Gloria on a double blind date - and finds Gloria's match more to her liking.

NOTE: Guests Bryce and Satterfield are soap opera stars from, respectively, Another World and General Hospital.

"Falling in Bed Again"
Gilbert Gottfried [ Himself ]

Gloria convinces Hope not to see her ex-husband again, inspiring Hope to help another spurned wife do the same, but then Gloria herself succumbs to temptation. Meanwhile, Dennis tries to help Hope by having her produce a segment called "Sex With Your Ex," with Gloria as one of the guests.

"I Never Sang for Our Father"

An embarrassed and shy Louis secretly joins Hope's church choir, but Gloria isn't singing Hope's praises when she suspects that her friend and ex-husband are having an affair. Meanwhile, Dennis decides to have plastic surgery live on the show.

"My Mamma Done Told Me (1)"

Hope has not told her parents she is divorcing Jeffrey, but when he turns up during their visit, the truth comes out. Big time, as it happens, because Hope's mother then reveals to her that Hope's father is not her biological father.

"Who's Poppa? (2)"

Hope becomes convinced that her father is Bill Anderson, the real name of actor Adam West of Batman fame, unaware that her mother insists it was another actor. Meanwhile, Dennis's lawyer accompanies Dennis and Gloria on a date to insure against charges of sexual harassment.

"Love With an Improper Stranger"

A lonely Hope spends the night with a handsome stranger, but it's possible that she's in for more of a relationship than she bargained for - he may be her brother. Distraught Hope does the unforgivable: she forgets to enter Dennis in the local Emmy Award competition, which he is sure he will win after 23 years of being passed over.

"The Face with Two Men"

The new station manager orders Hope to arrange a Growing Pains reunion show, but there's a problem - Dennis refuses to be in the same room with his rival, Alan Thicke. Meanwhile, Scott, the little boy Gloria used to baby-sit turns up, grown up and still infatuated with her.

"Sisyphus, Prometheus and Me"
gs: Burt Reynolds [ Himself ]

Gloria learns she's pregnant and contemplates a third marriage to Louis - a decision that could be advantageous for new station manager Gwillem who persuades them to have the ceremony live on the show. But the minister slated to conduct the nuptials doesn't show and is replaced by guest Burt Reynolds, while Hope, locked in the prop room, struggles desperately to get Gloria an important message from her doctor.

"Don't Take Any Wooden Elephants"

Hope's upset when Gwillem 'asks' her to care for his pampered poodle, so she attempts to play a practical joke on him - which, of course, backfires big time when she steals one of his prized wooden elephants without realizing the nature of its contents.

"A Midsummer Night's Trim"

Gloria finds Hope's lack of faith in her the unkindest cut of all after Hope reveals she's having recurring nightmares of Gloria ruining her hair. They agree to consult a therapist and dream expert appearing on the show in hopes of identifying the source of Hope's neurotic fear. Meanwhile, Dennis insists on hosting a show-length infomercial for a male enhancement device, and Louis discusses diet with Gloria's next-door neighbor Scott. 2nd Season 1995

"Dumb & Smarter"

Hope must fight off suitors after she writes Dr. Glassman an electronic love letter on her computer and accidentally sends it to everyone on her mailing list except Dr. Glassman.

"A Star is Reborn"
Merv Griffith [ Himself ]

Hope sacrifices a long-awaited vacation when she's given the chance to produce a talk-show hosted by a quirky former child actress. But will the rising star outshine Dennis when she gets his time slot?

"How to Get an Ed in Business"
Swoosie Kurtz [ Herself ]

Dennis suspects that Ed is after his job when the computer whiz volunteers to help backstage and destroys Dennis's interview with Swoosie Kurtz. Meanwhile, Gloria calls Louis on the carpet for redoing Dennis's dressing room with rug remnants.

"The Man Upstairs"
William Ragsdale [ Danny Saterfield ]

The girls try to have a noisy new tenant evicted from the building but change their minds when they discover that he's handsome.

NOTE: Guest Ragsdale was the star of the surreal Fox sitcom Herman's Head.

"A New York Story"
Lisa Kudrow [ Phoebe Buffay ], Deryl Carroll [ Crazy Scary Man ], Joe Mantegna [ Himself ]

After Hope's divorce becomes final, the girls decide to be "two gals on the go," and go to New York City for the weekend, where they visit the Central Perk coffeehouse.

There are some ways in which Canada is completely fucked up. I was up there a week and saw a total of, like, 4 hours of tv, much of it in French, and I still managed to see Alan Thicke host some program.

Anyway, I'm glad to see work on your fanpage is progressing well, Huck. Have you managed to track down all the guests that ever appeared on "Thicke Of The Night"?

somewhere (i think i even posted it on ILX somewhere), there's the beginings of what will someday be my claim-to-fame argument that Full House was the impetus of the teenwave of the late 90s/early 00s.

you frighten me sometimes.

Now look, FH defined a generation.
A generation of weak-kneed, self-centered matieralists with no regard for posterity, true, but were it not for DJ and Stephanie Tanner (not to mention
"is he or isn't he" Joey Gladstone) there would be no market for Britney Spears, Nsync, etc.
Full House was the cultural incubator for the Echo Generation (aka the after-boom), and deserves to be recognized as such. Were it not for the
extended life of this show (and those that it spawned: Family Matters, Boy Meets World, uh, uh, that one about the kid who ate the bad hamburger and
died then came back as an angel, the other one with Bronson Pinchot as magical alien who becomes best friends with the little brat from Jerry
Maguire, and eventually Dawson's Creek, Felicity, and NYPD Blue), well beyond any real DEMAND for it, surviving simply because it was better to
know exactly where John Stamos and his hairpiece were going to be than having them at large (remember his pre-FH sitcom as the rockin' rebel son of
TV's Quincy and Felix Unger, Jack Klugman...something about TWO...
And for the record, Stamos was a full-fledged member of the Beach Boys (as drummer) during their post-lawsuit against Brian Wilson REALLY
Endless Summer Kokomo-era tours.
For what it's worth John Stamos is as much a Beach "Boy" as Dennis Wilson (the only one who actually surfed, and eventually drowned--no sissy-ass
plane crashes for him), and deserves his due credit for what his pivotal role in what has happened to Rockaroll.
As he said on some TV show (possibly even early Conan) "Jason Priestly? Luke Perry? Don't talk to me about those fuckers. I had sideburns when they
was still suckin' they mamas' teats. Who's the trend-setter now, G?"
Licentious quote, sure, but he did in fact say something along those lines.
Time will prove that Full House was as emblematic of its time as, say, All in the Family or Flipper, were of theirs.

Don't fuck with Stamos.

nine months pass...
Drunken driving charges filed against Growing Pains star Gold
VENTURA, Calif. (AP) — Prosecutors filed three felony counts Thursday against former Growing Pains star Tracey Gold in the alleged drunken driving rollover crash of her sport utility vehicle.
Tracey Gold Marshall, 35, was at the wheel of the vehicle when it flipped on a highway in Moorpark on Sept. 3, injuring her husband and two of her three children, authorities said.
The district attorney’s office filed charges of driving under the influence of alcohol causing bodily injury, driving with a blood alcohol level in excess of 0.08 causing injury and felony child endangerment, Senior Deputy District Attorney Kim Gibbons said.
The maximum sentence would be five years in prison, Gibbons said. But he also said it was common for people in such cases to receive probation or a lesser amount of jail time.
The Marshalls’ home telephone number was unlisted and the actress couldn’t be reached for comment.
Blair Berk, a lawyer who represents Marshall, declined to discuss details of the incident.
“Tracey is a wonderful mother and incredibly respected in her community. Hopefully the truth of what really occurred will be more important to people than speculation or headlines,” Berk said.
She is scheduled for arraignment Oct. 19 and plans to plead not guilty, her lawyer said.
Marshall wasn’t hurt when the vehicle flipped, but her husband, Roby Marshall, 39, suffered neck injuries. The couple’s seven-year-old son suffered a broken collarbone, and their five-year-old son was cut, said California Highway Patrol officer Steve Reid.
A four-month-old son also in the vehicle wasn’t hurt.
The vehicle veered off the highway just before midnight and rolled over on its way down an embankment, Reid said.
Marshall played Carol Seaver during the seven-year run of Growing Pains, which ended production in 1992.

nine months pass...

Vancouver, British Columbia (CNN) -- Police are asking for public assistance in locating actor Andrew Koenig, who is best known for appearing in the 1980s sitcom "Growing Pains."

Koenig, 41, lives in Venice, California, but was visiting friends in Vancouver, police said in a statement Sunday. Friends last saw him on February 14. He was supposed to return home last Tuesday, and Vancouver police were notified Thursday that he had not arrived.

"Andrew has recently been despondent and his family and friends are concerned for his well-being," the police statement said.

Koenig was described as being 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 135 pounds, with brown shoulder-length hair and brown eyes, authorities said. Anyone with information on his whereabouts was asked to notify police.

Koenig appeared in 25 episodes of "Growing Pains" from 1985 to 1989, playing Richard "Boner" Stabone, according to the Internet Movie Database Web site. He also has appeared in episodes of several other TV shows.
