Hi. I'm the poor dude from the SF story. (I don't post here much anymore cause the shouting of childish assholes seems to drown out whispers of the good-natured, thoughtful people. This thread is further evidence of that) The version told initially is inaccurate in several key details. She didn't say I was her internet boyfriend. She didn't lure me out there, with me having to spend the last of my savings to go. I was visiting my sister, and thought, hey why don't you come meet me and hang out for the last couple days of my trip (my friend who came with me had to leave for home before I did). She didn't say her phone was in a trunk. She didn't answer the phone and then deny that it was her. So, if this is the most godawful story of her wickedness, and it was gotten 3rd hand and is not very accurate, I wonder how many other of the facts---and the deductions made from them--also contain inaccuracies or embellishments. As I've told her, in my mind there's a possibility she is a manipulative and wicked person, but to think you know 100% that she is is to place to much faith in the power of your own logic. But don't listen to me. After all, I'm a homophobic, xenophobic woman-hater.

And I'm sure y'all will just think "oh that poor stupid fool. He's still under her evil spell!". That's fine. If I knew only what I've read here or what was said in IMs, I'd think that, too. Cause, y'know, it fits the script that's already been written.

well i will apologize for that post to both parties for the apparent inaccuracies or rather FICTION and offer those who told me the story as it exists (and gave me the go-ahead to post it) the chance to explain why they told it like that.

It was most likely an innocent telephone-game type degradation of the original story. Does make me think though: I told it to Julia, who's apparently dating Kenan now.

Well, if everyone here posted on directly-obtained, absolute facts, there'd be like 3 posts per day. All of them boring. It's a lot more interesting to think there's a sociopathic she-devil amongst us. This place and esp all the off-board chatting is very creepy and seems to have a negative effect on almost all who partake in it.

GD, I want to reiterate what I said upthread, which is that I don't think many people here were every calling SHE-DEVIL: we/they have more just been saying "pfft" and "sounds too fishy for me" and "whatever, sounds fake, ignore her." (That is not a malicious personal attack; it is people deciding they're not going to bother believing stuff you say.)

Well, I think the few condemnations she got were mostly in response to other people saying "even if she did XYZ, that's okay" or "who cares" -- which is slightly rhetorical/hypothetical.

The main thing I'm trying to be clear about is that people weren't trying to "warn" anyone or provide PSAs. A lot of people had just found the idea of Luna kind of fishy/funny for a while, and once Chaki opened the gates, people hopped in and said "LOL yeah that's what I thought/heard." It was probably not necessary to have some kind of trial where we air stories and evaluate their truthfulness.

I personally cop to one big error here: as someone who wasn't at all invested in the question, and who'd wondered about this for a while, it was very easy for me to be all "LOL I dunno, sounds fishy to me" -- without properly taking into account how the whole thing would be kind of hurtful and turmoil-causing to those who had personal relationships with her.

P.S. I have no idea about off-board stuff because it's kinda sad enough that I've followed this on-board

I guess it's the "crazy person" part that seems, at the least, unnecessary. I don't think having "relations" with several people from the same social circle and backing out of meet ups means someone is crazy. At least I hope not, cause I don't look good in a strait jacket.

and of course i don't take kindly to her apparently telling people that i'm pissed we didn't meet because i wanted to sleep with her. a story she apparently told not in response to this, but a long time ago when she was on ilx being perfectly pleasant to my "face".

a) i didn't want to sleep with her, I wanted to meet for a coffee and nothing more, b) that excuse doesn't work for multiple guys, not every guy who wants to meet her wants to sleep with her i'm guessing, and c) what chaki said.
