haha, i heart Oilyrags.

myndbloom, Wednesday, 23 July 2008 17:00 (fifteen years ago) link

It's kind of nice being hopelessly out of touch. Try it sometime.

Oilyrags, Wednesday, 23 July 2008 17:20 (fifteen years ago) link

i was being super serial. there is no try. only do. i was super late to the Wayne love-in. i'm not a card carrying Weezy-jockholding club member. but sometimes his delivery reels me in like a goon at a gun store.

myndbloom, Wednesday, 23 July 2008 17:34 (fifteen years ago) link

I can't take too much of him is all. He's sorta like Redman or Busta or Canibus - fine for a guest appearance, great punchlines, but kind of a doofus and a whole song is kinda pushing it.

Oilyrags, Wednesday, 23 July 2008 17:43 (fifteen years ago) link

Agreed. "A Milli" is one of the lone exceptions for me. i called him my favorite dumb rapper & someone nearly slapped me.
my favorite Canibus song was that one at the beginning of his second album that's just like a ton of sampled couplets laid on top of each other. i could post from that track over & over on this thread, basically.

myndbloom, Wednesday, 23 July 2008 17:51 (fifteen years ago) link

"only thing I turn down is my collar - and it's subject to poppin'"
