I think "tippin" in chamillionaire-speak means something like "ridin" "swangin" or "swervin"

TACO BIZZLE (The Reverend), Sunday, 1 February 2009 11:05 (fifteen years ago) link

this whole thread since the moment it got moved is like the hall of stfu

Croydon Council have written to me about "Still Tippin'"; without a licence I cannot continue to dispose of garden refuse in this way. I may have to reconsider my position.

Ned u should post on 77. It is your kind of place, I would like to think. Of course it is everyone's kind of place.

well that goes a long way towards explaining the existence of a thread called "thread of people who should unequivocally not be invited to borad 77".

vic is a far more worthwhile poster than any of those folks hating on him.

The mysterious 77!

I still don't completely get it.

╓abies, Sunday, 1 February 2009 16:53 (fifteen years ago) link

Hey guys! So, uhh...what's this mysterious 77 board all about? QUICK--someone invite me for 1/2 an hour. I won't tell a soul.

brightscreamer, Monday, 2 February 2009 00:46 (fifteen years ago) link

Email a mod. Regular posters can no longer invite since the reboot this summer.

TACO BIZZLE (The Reverend), Monday, 2 February 2009 01:21 (fifteen years ago) link

that seems way shameful. is it like an initiation rite?, where you have to ask to be added, then paddled by regulars?

schlump, Monday, 2 February 2009 01:22 (fifteen years ago) link

fratboys be fratboys. it's funny how natural the impulse is to have exclusive groups.

i enjoyed getting to see what was on 77 without having to man up and ask someone to let me on. unexpected benefit of clusterfuckery! now i know there are some threads where people are unbearable and some threads where people are adorable and I no longer have to be curious. (+ i enjoy all angry modding. i guess i don't post enough that it disrupts what i'm doing, so i don't have to get emotions about it)

hahaah

s1ocki, Thursday, 12 February 2009 18:16 (fifteen years ago) link

i was gonna say he's nabisco-esque but not really...if anything the scarcity of points of comparison just illustrates how difficult it is to write thoughtful semi-lengthy posts without drifting off to tl;dr boringsville or coming off too clueless or earnest or verbose. lord knows i've tried and failed to achieve that balance many times. it's a lot easier to retreat into low-risk one liners.
