i don't see why it's implausible. a LOT of dudes have tried to start rap blogs in the past few years in part to build buzz for their own career or someone in their crew, the other ones just weren't so successful.

it really is kind of diabolical how Drake has been running a lead single factory for new dudes trying to get a release date

I wish he hadn't ruined "fo real" but i think that could be a big single for Future anyway

yeah i mean there are songs like "Amen" where he doesn't really get in the way or drive the appeal of the whole thing

new track "LSD" is great imo + video is great too

its a$ap rocky. he is not exactly known for his content.

this song kinda shades whoever upthread was saying kendrick's prob got a$ap worried, i'm not a huge fan of his necessarily (i like stuff like "suddenly" a lot) but this is definitely a next level iteration of his aesthetic. pretty beautiful actually, gonna go add to my 2015 songs list rn

video's really nice too (and bonus cred in my book as more fuel to the fire that is asian pop culture's takeover in the next year or two, shit is everywhere these days get hype)

album came out a week early & is streamable. tracklist looks both intriguing and overstuffed as hell

I've loved most of the new songs tho, especially everyday and LSD

a few listens, a few thoughts...

pleasantly surprised to hear this more psychedelic sound suiting him well, but aside from a few highlights it feels unfocused. not helped by all the bloat... cutting the entire middle third of the record (really, up until wayne's verse) would do a lot of good by itself. also some sequencing weirdness, I'm not sure if the record needed both "LSD" and "excuse me" but it definitely didn't need them side by side.

speaking of, I really was not expecting wayne to save "M'$." might be the best verse on the whole album...following his show-stealer on tyler's new one, no less. digging how he really shows up on these younger rappers' records, hoping it continues, (elsewhere, I wonder what kanye wanted in return for...that...)
