grew up in mn and that event and song has a sort of weird place in my mind, a sad legend that kind of haunts lake superior.

my parents had gord's gold on vinyl and i used to listen to it when i was a kid, that song had a lot of impact on me, it really felt like the world of music opened up to include the sad and scary and mythological events of the world...of course the song i hear now isn't necessarily how the song was to me at the time, but it's got a certain power still

When this was released I was working as a janitor in a Kellogg’s cereal factory. The only furniture I had was an old bus seat I'd found on the curb. I listened to this every day for months. It kept me alive. Thanks Mr. P.

This was playing first time I went to a big night club. All dressed up smart clothes only, shiny shoes. It was a night club called chevaliers in stanmore. It was with a flame haired girl who was in a leopard skin dress. Debbie was her name. It didn't last. The night club has gone. I had this tune in my head for better part of 30 years. I only tracked it down this year. I hear this and I'm back there. That's the power of a song. No a great song.
