I think maybe the race/sexuality-baiting part of that might have been under the radar for a lot of people, actually. It's not exactly explicit. I don't love that post at all, but I bet that/those aspects of that it were not apparent to most people -- for whatever reason. I think if it had been explicitly hateful in that/those manner(s), there would have been quite a different response. Gabbneb gets shit for being racist for saying some pretty lighthearted/borderline shit on 77 (though I do acknowledge that 'neb gets shit pretty much 94 hours a day everywhere), for example.

i can't claim to know any 'objective truth' in this topsy turvy house of mirrors internet but this feels like a modern epic of real talk to me. those 2 dudes and most mods in general seem like decent people and worthwhile posters but they've kinda squandered any sense that the board is in good hands, and have made it clear that the rest of us are powerless to do anything about that.

I don't really wanna get into this cause I said my ineffectual piece and I'm pretty much out of the discussion here but look: 77 has room to improve. One of the areas in which we--yes, WE, cause I'm sure if you use the search function you can even find Queen KIP Big Hoos sayin some shit--can improve is in reducing backbiting and gossip. It's not good. That advice would probably hold true across ILX and shit maybe even across your real fuckin LIFE, but it would definitely cut down on the clusterfucks caused by all these de-77ings that keep happening.

That's all I'm saying.
