i really wonder how the yanks will look in 2-3 seasons. a-rod looks almost finished. jeter had a solid '12 but it wasn't exactly great or even very good, just "good". tex is less giambi and more adam laroche now. granderson has a lot of holes in his game. swish, who knows? are they keeping ichiro? beyond sabathia (who knows how he'll look in a couple years w/his mileage and body type), the staff is iffy. these are all questions pondered before the last several years too but they looked and played like the worst playoff team in a very long time.

all the talk of a-rod being moved seems like hysterical NY media. Like, find me .280/20/100 (healthy caveats) or .260/15/100 @ 3rd base on the open market. yes, he is overpaid but that ship has sailed and you're not going to be able to move him unless you take back 3 heath bells, nevermind one.
jeter: the broken ankle thing will probably push him into sub-sub-replacement territory. it wouldn't shock me to see him hang it up next year if he goes off a cliff.
tex was a bad idea at the time and it looks even worse now. not sure what you do about it except take problem children back and hope for the best. I would think that he would be a more attractive trade target for a team than A-rod. i have no prospective targets to back that up. maybe chicago cubs?
a lot of talk about letting grandy go, but I could also see him replacing swish in RF and gardiner (lolhealthy?) in center. this is price-is-right stuff. Find me 40 HR on the open market etc.
I could see ichiro coming back on a make-good/stopgap contract until someone shakes loose in the minors a la eric chavez.
swish wants werth money lol
i would take kuroda back on a 2 yr contract w/ modest raise if he wanted it. everyone else besides he and CC can burn.
yeah forgot kuroda. great pickup. he's 38 or something though right? i can see him going for a couple more years at the same level.
what FAs are coming up that they have a shot at signing? i don't see them investing in josh hamilton.
