A quick survey of her accounting suggests that she is lying about her lack of funds.
An more extended examination suggests that she may in fact be a total con.

People care because:
a) lost jobs for actual musicians
b) she continues to frustrate and seem more and more grifty with every explanation
c) the semi-pro and pro musicians on this board (and their friends) object to people in their profession being exploited
d) she opens her blog posts with "hola comrades"

and beyond that there's a whole eyebrow thing too

e) she once played ukelele on the beach for hundreds of people for free
