Under Construction is probably my favorite album of hers. The Cookbook isn't amazing, but it isn't bad, there's way too many good songs on it.

i like both of these. 9th inning does sound way better & triple threat is pretty cool. kinda funny to see them doing the houston thing (pimp c quoting, still tippin nodding) but it sounds pretty unique

cautiously enthusiastic about these, i think the direction is welcome and she sounds way less clunky than on anything else she's done since the cookbook, but i don't feel like they're quiiiiiiite at the level that i can really really get hyped. something still a bit effortful about them.

now that she's been really good on radio hits in the past year or two by J. Cole and Fantasia i kinda wish she'd just do a full-on R&B record with zero Timbaland input, i think that would be so much better than any of that "9th Inning"/"Triple Threat" type shit.

She seemed so happy to be there last night. Like, "hi everybody, remember me? No? Well, I'm happy to be here all the same!" (waves) Her stuff sounded so cool compared to Perry product and Kravtiz crap.

Not a football fan, so I only watched a few minutes of the game. I looked in at halftime to see what Katy Perry was wearing. I liked this line from the The Guardian: "Wearing a startling, waist-length hair weave, her salvo of 'Get Ur Freak On,' 'Work It' and 'Lose Control' almost steal the slot from under Perry’s nose: almost 15 years since they were released, these songs still sound like the future."

Yeah, it feels like she's trying too hard to make something on-trend instead of something reflective of her artistic persona.

Visuals great, verses aren't bad I think but the hook is sooooo boring that it's hard to get motivated to listen to it again to where the details of what Missy is doing would actually sink in and stick with me.

Listening to Supa Dupa Fly this afternoon (which came out 20 years ago!) and it still sounds so good, both the songs and the production. For all her great singles and songwriting, I don't think she ever made a better album -- but that's not a knock, it's just that I love SDF so much.

Timbaland, of course, and then the guy Lamb. I kinda keep my circle small because there’s not a lot of people who think crazy or weird like Missy. I’m sure there is, but I haven’t ran across ones that think weird like me. When it comes to working with outside producers, it’s very small.
