Hurrah for Ms. M's new incarnation, and soup and sticks and such.

Wow, only my third day at work and disaster is striking. They had trouble with the printing software last night and have been unable to get the paper out (today is the first day of classes) and now the site for the online version is completely down. None of the student editors are around and I have no clue what to do about the latter.

Such urgency around me and all I have to do is read ILx and check in on Facebook.

Susan, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 14:39 (fifteen years ago) link

El Tomboto, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 14:40 (fifteen years ago) link

I have never gone by anything other than Sam/Misery until now. Besides I would most definitely be "New Shoes".

Susan, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 14:56 (fifteen years ago) link

guys.i have to go to class tonight. ;_;

tehresa, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 15:48 (fifteen years ago) link

book-making is cool but doesn't really inspire SEXY TIME

Rubyredd, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 15:49 (fifteen years ago) link

I don't have class until next Thursday night, but I do have a vast amount of reading that I should be doing (but am not doing). Better/worse? Not sure. I like going to class because I get to hang out with my nursing school friends, though...

RR, book-making sounds fun. Not everything has to inspire SEXY TIME, you know!

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 16:04 (fifteen years ago) link

yeah, i went to an event last night and though only 2 of my classmates were there, it was enough to make me want to bolt in the opposite direction. just need to keep repeating "1 more semester. 1 more semester." which is sort of a lie but it will work for now.

tehresa, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 16:05 (fifteen years ago) link

guys i want to meet new girls. what fora have not been exploited? are book groups retarded?

remy bean, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 16:10 (fifteen years ago) link

Depends on the book.

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 16:11 (fifteen years ago) link

"Welcome, Remy! I want to talk about Twilight with you SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much. And do you like Ayn Rand?"

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 16:12 (fifteen years ago) link

My new director told me I might have to come in at midnight on Monday. I can't think of the last time I saw the hour of midnight.

Susan, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 16:13 (fifteen years ago) link

i am thinking of 'how to cut jerks loose and also how to meet girls who do not suck at life'

remy bean, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 16:13 (fifteen years ago) link

haha remy, i want to meet boys! my mom last night was talking about her coworker who was going on a date from match.com and i was like NOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

tehresa, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 16:15 (fifteen years ago) link

I tried internet datetron and it was more lame than you can imagine.
going to bars at odd hours = win

El Tomboto, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 16:16 (fifteen years ago) link

i was just about to advise the same thing. but I was at that bar at that odd hour = win

Kitties!!!, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 16:18 (fifteen years ago) link

i signed up for match dot com and all i got for hits were sloe-eyed 'careerist' ladies who worked as, like, the manager of the three-employee rosetta stone cart in the mall, felt strongly about rescue dogs, and talked rosily about their wonderful years in college.

remy bean, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 16:19 (fifteen years ago) link

I think that description goes on the sad thread.

Susan, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 16:20 (fifteen years ago) link

yeah see that is a big dnw.

tehresa, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 16:20 (fifteen years ago) link

I think that description goes on the sad thread.

The sad thread is too happy for that!

Something'll happen, Remy. Always does.

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 16:22 (fifteen years ago) link

books are the way to go. in a roundabout way, that's how i met jordan.

Rubyredd, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 16:29 (fifteen years ago) link

I would have no idea how to meet new men, remy, so I'm at a loss - but why not try the book thing?

Also, maybe you have new friends who have friends you haven't met yet?

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 16:32 (fifteen years ago) link

Have you tried walking around in public pantsless?

HI DERE, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 16:35 (fifteen years ago) link

El Tomboto, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 16:37 (fifteen years ago) link

Have I mentioned that you should be careful which friends you ask to introduce you to new women? xp

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 16:38 (fifteen years ago) link

Have you tried walking around in public pantsless?

Ah, so that's how you met your wife.

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 16:38 (fifteen years ago) link

"What is THAT?"

"...hello, ladies."

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 16:38 (fifteen years ago) link

HI DERE, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 17:28 (fifteen years ago) link

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 17:41 (fifteen years ago) link

Ed, Thursday, 28 August 2008 13:03 (fifteen years ago) link

Ah drinking with Ilx0rs. It has been years since I've done this. One of these days I'll be able to afford to travel again. Or work will send me out and about.

I'm already hungry and I just ate breakfast a couple of hours ago. argh.

Susan, Thursday, 28 August 2008 14:00 (fifteen years ago) link

i have a headache. i really must learn that gin is not nice.

tehresa, Thursday, 28 August 2008 14:20 (fifteen years ago) link

Oh I had to quit gin as it did nasty things to me. Shame as I loved gin and tonics.

Susan, Thursday, 28 August 2008 14:21 (fifteen years ago) link

I still love me a gin and tonic from time to time. Raggett family drink, that.

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 28 August 2008 14:35 (fifteen years ago) link

Better than my family drink, Icehouse tallboys.

Susan, Thursday, 28 August 2008 14:48 (fifteen years ago) link

lol. I don't know what the R family drink is. Probably margaritas. Usually that my mother has dyed some weird color.

Leaving to drop the kids off soon - so excited for State Fair, yay!

Ed - I hope I get to meet you this weekend somehow!

Sara R-C, Thursday, 28 August 2008 14:57 (fifteen years ago) link

Ok I am taking the boy to a churrchuria (sp?) for his birthday dinner tomorrow night. My stomach, for one, cannot wait.

Susan, Thursday, 28 August 2008 17:05 (fifteen years ago) link

hey sara i found the perfect activity for your kids next summer. instead of paying for summer camp, let them hang at the laundromat! the lady who runs mine had her kids there and put them to work today! folding: it's good for character building.

tehresa, Thursday, 28 August 2008 18:46 (fifteen years ago) link

in my desperation i have just applied for a job at a kids' store :(

Rubyredd, Thursday, 28 August 2008 18:55 (fifteen years ago) link
