The gap between voting and now has made this more interesting, I think, as I'd forgotten which things got ruled out in my late cuts from 100 or so down to 50. Things I voted for that have ranked so far:

Solitary Flight was my number 9. Love this track, I only discovered it a couple of years ago. Such a great sample flip, I have probably listened to the Bladerunner OST hundreds of times and yet, when i heard Theo's take on it though instantly familiar i could not place the source. maybe because everyone samples like "these moments lost in time" or "tell me the first thing that cames into your head when i mention your mother" random SFX or even techier parts of the score, but in theos hands "memories of Green" takes on these like weary gospel vibes or something. rather than what i associate with bladerunner vibes.

whoa, i'm so excited! here's an idea, moka: how about you do a search for each track on ILM and quote one or two interesting comments about the track? your graphics are great and all but without words it can feel dry. in fact, i'll do that myself if you give me the full results.

I liked Rocker a lot at the time but it feels kinda clunky now.

never liked 'rocker' at all. made up 'over the ice' made it, even if relatively low, thought it may suffer from an axl vote-split.

Mandarine Girl feels amazingly low actually but I suspect that In White Rooms or maybe even Body Language hoovered up some of its votes.

I liked Rocker a lot at the time but it feels kinda clunky now.

I found it grating and then I liked it and then I got bored by it and now remember it with a fond nostalgia for a pre-Justice, pre-brostep grating wilful dumbness. saw them live a couple of years ago and they made a fun point of playing it as a medley in different styles, with different soundbanks and tempos, instead of doubling down on the simple aspects

expecting Body Language to make top 25.

Woah, didn't realise this had begun. Lots of things I don't know so far but I did vote Blawan as my number 2 or 3 - an unstoppable, highly effective tune that does a lot with so little.

So gorgeous. Funny to think that we all initially thought that Rex the Dog was Ewan Pearson, and now he and Al Usher are releasing on Kompakt. This is very much in the vein of Pearson's recent Resident Advisor mix - filled with gurgling micro sounds but otherwise it's gooily emotional, all shimmering trebly synth wavers and gently percolating basslines. It would sound perfect on the next Totalcomp in the "For Penny & Alexis" slot, except that in the second half it becomes crashingly/crushingly anthemic, building and building and becoming harder and harder (the beats actually begin to sound like thunder claps). There's not really a precedent for it: the closest thing i can think of is if you crossed their remix of Feist with Joakim's remix of Antena's "Camino Del Sol".

PLEEEEEEEEEAAASE, I remember Tom Middleton (the guy who made it) doing some interview and calling it a "love record", I didn't really know what he meant but then I bought it. It gets better and better and better with each listen, it IS easily in the top 5 best house records of the year, it's a massive evolution for the French House sound, it's what Cassius should have done, it's what everyone should be doing! Instrumental version, vocal version, pick whichever but Cosmos MUST MUST MUST be in the Focus Group. It is a love record, it's just the most hopeful yet down to earth LIFE AFFIRMING record of the year I can't do it justice in writing but BELIEVE!
