7 number one votes that got no other votes? love ILM sometimes.

I think Getting Me Down was low down on my ballot but not 100%. Good tune anyway, I may have heard it a few too many times by now but can't really hold that against it.

The banners are exquisite, yeah. I'd forgotten about "All I Do", need more Bump'n'Flex in my life. Lots of things resembling things I've voted for turning up, so can't complain.

Actually from those 7 songs with 50 points only 3 of them are number one votes. The rest closed at 50 by chance.

Cool! really looking forward to checking out stuff on this thread, i can allready tell there is going to be a lot of "why didn't i vote for that" moments for me. along with finding cool stuff that i missed first time around. And the graphics look great! thanks for making it happen.

Caught up on all the youtubes now - from the ones that I wasn't familiar with before, I think Invisible Conga People - Cable Dazed is my favorite so far. Really the Killers & M83 tunes are the only ones that I'm not too keen on, so a pretty good start.Heading to bed now, will rejoin the fray after work tomorrow. Thanks again to Moka for the work on this.
― I Shall Be Re-Released (Mr Andy M), Monday, 20 August 2012 00:10 (eleven years ago) link
"Transition" should be much higher imo. but i didn't even vote for it as i thought it was pre 2000. it just feels like an all time classic.

The gap between voting and now has made this more interesting, I think, as I'd forgotten which things got ruled out in my late cuts from 100 or so down to 50. Things I voted for that have ranked so far:
108. Junior Boys - Like a Child (Carl Craig remix) (147 points, 7 votes) [my #39]99. Green Velvet - La La Land (157 points, 9 votes) [my #37, mostly a vote for every time I've seen him live, though]98. Blawan - Getting Me Down (158 points, 5 votes) [my #8]94. Underground Resistance - Transition (160 points, 5 votes) [my #15, really surprised to see it this low]85. Alter Ego - Rocker (165 points, 5 votes) [my #24, no idea why I rated it so highly tbh except for nostalgia]

Solitary Flight was my number 9. Love this track, I only discovered it a couple of years ago. Such a great sample flip, I have probably listened to the Bladerunner OST hundreds of times and yet, when i heard Theo's take on it though instantly familiar i could not place the source. maybe because everyone samples like "these moments lost in time" or "tell me the first thing that cames into your head when i mention your mother" random SFX or even techier parts of the score, but in theos hands "memories of Green" takes on these like weary gospel vibes or something. rather than what i associate with bladerunner vibes.

whoa, i'm so excited! here's an idea, moka: how about you do a search for each track on ILM and quote one or two interesting comments about the track? your graphics are great and all but without words it can feel dry. in fact, i'll do that myself if you give me the full results.

^ yeah I love this feature of old-school ILX polls
but it's a bit hard to feel anything about Moka's presentation is lacking when she's rescued the poll altogether and is blowing up the jpg game

I liked Rocker a lot at the time but it feels kinda clunky now.
― Matt DC, Monday, 20 August 2012 13:21 (eleven years ago) link
never liked 'rocker' at all. made up 'over the ice' made it, even if relatively low, thought it may suffer from an axl vote-split.
― second only to popcorn (or something), Monday, 20 August 2012 13:35 (eleven years ago) link
rocker was always an annoyance
― coal, Monday, 20 August 2012 13:49 (eleven years ago) link
Mandarine Girl feels amazingly low actually but I suspect that In White Rooms or maybe even Body Language hoovered up some of its votes.
― Matt DC, Monday, 20 August 2012 13:49 (eleven years ago) link
love stl but i overplayed that one
― coal, Monday, 20 August 2012 13:51 (eleven years ago) link

― karl...arlk...rlka...lkar..., Monday, 20 August 2012 14:43 (eleven years ago) link
I found it grating and then I liked it and then I got bored by it and now remember it with a fond nostalgia for a pre-Justice, pre-brostep grating wilful dumbness. saw them live a couple of years ago and they made a fun point of playing it as a medley in different styles, with different soundbanks and tempos, instead of doubling down on the simple aspects
expecting Body Language to make top 25.

Woah, didn't realise this had begun. Lots of things I don't know so far but I did vote Blawan as my number 2 or 3 - an unstoppable, highly effective tune that does a lot with so little.
