Chinese Dremocracy?

The 9/07 actually seems legit, though.

I had the Pretox mix from Mick Boogie with like 60 seconds of Detox preview, which was totally not enuf preview

Thomas Tallis (Tommy), Sunday, 4 February 2007 22:21 (7 years ago) Permalink

Yeah I heard that little preview thing. Definitely wasn't enough to get my fix..

Still in withdrawal..

Detox and Chinese Democracy will drop on the same day in a massive war for the biggest record ship of all time. Two days later, the "Chinese Detoxcracy" mashup lp will swamp both in publicity and blogpopularity.

its going to suck isnt it? its like the rap chinese democracy. itll be over laboured, sterile, gutless. except maybe one or two tracks. dres perfectionism will be his downfall for detox. the fact he just isnt what he used to be either as a producer isnt gonna help.

titchyschneiderMk2, Thursday, 2 August 2007 11:01 (6 years ago) Permalink

Has he produced anything recently?

The latest Nas album had one tune by him, I thought it was pretty good. The upcoming Eve album is supposed to have some production by him too.

and "Currently, Young is also working on Raekwon's Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II. Other albums Young is reported to be working on are Young Buck's Buck the World, Bishop Lamont's The Reformation, 50 Cent's Curtis, Chauncey Black's Church Boy, Papoose's The Nacirema Dream and albums for Eve and G.A.G.E.. It is also said that he will have production on Lil Wayne's new album Tha Carter III."

that lil wayne beat is well made and everything but so boring. when is he gonna change up those fucking macabre synth chords hes been using for a decade now? the young buck beat he did was good but again, it just feels overproduced.

titchyschneiderMk2, Thursday, 2 August 2007 11:20 (6 years ago) Permalink

Dre didn't produce that Wayne beat, Cipha Sounds did.

The Brainwasher, Thursday, 2 August 2007 11:39 (6 years ago) Permalink

the fader said dre produced it?

i thought it sounded like generic underground east coast beat+dre chords.

Rapper Dr. Dre's son found dead

Wednesday, August 27 2008, 09:16 BST

By Simon Reynolds, Entertainment Reporter
Rapper Dr. Dre's son found dead

The son of hip-hop star Dr. Dre has been found dead at his home in Woodland Hills, California, reports Reuters.

Andre Young Jr. was discovered "unresponsive in bed" by his mother on Saturday morning following a night out with friends. Paramedics pronounced the 20-year-old dead at the scene.

A statement from Dr. Dre's spokesman said: "Dr. Dre is mourning the loss of his son Andre Young Jr. Please respect his family's grief and privacy at this time."

The cause of death cannot be determined until results from toxicology tests are returned, which could take more than six weeks.

A Grammy-winning producer and artist, Dr. Dre will release his third album Detox this year. He has also produced records for Eminem, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent and Jay-Z.

Dr Dre: Classic or Dud ?

I'll never understand the "start/revive threads about an artist for unfortunate personal non-music-related news about which nothing can really be said" philosophy.

some dude, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 19:10 (5 years ago) Permalink

yeah i wasn't gonna do it as i hate the whole RIP thing generally, and i didn't see the other thread so my bad

He probably sold off all the beats he was making for this supposed album.

President Keyes, Thursday, 3 May 2012 14:57 (2 years ago) Permalink

and the ones he did sell have been kinda shitty. remember Kingdom Come?

Neil Young’s social media channels (some dude), Thursday, 3 May 2012 14:59 (2 years ago) Permalink

remember cuban linx 2?

am0n, Thursday, 3 May 2012 18:32 (2 years ago) Permalink

that went from being on the Aftermath release schedule to ending with like two Dre co-productions, didn't it?

Neil Young’s social media channels (some dude), Thursday, 3 May 2012 18:34 (2 years ago) Permalink

iirc dre had the worst beats on the album?

hologram ned raggett (The Reverend), Thursday, 3 May 2012 18:40 (2 years ago) Permalink

except for "kush", which is a jam, dre hasn't really done shit since the first game album imo

it's kinda been one of the biggest rap radio hits here in the past couple years and sounds really damn good on the radio so

hologram ned raggett (The Reverend), Thursday, 3 May 2012 19:03 (2 years ago) Permalink

i hope you realize that's the west coast version of "this new cam'ron joint is the biggest song on hot 97!"

Neil Young’s social media channels (some dude), Thursday, 3 May 2012 19:07 (2 years ago) Permalink

ha, probably

hologram ned raggett (The Reverend), Thursday, 3 May 2012 19:08 (2 years ago) Permalink

but it's had remarkable staying power regardless

hologram ned raggett (The Reverend), Thursday, 3 May 2012 19:12 (2 years ago) Permalink

am i missing something here? did dr dre have some involvement with the loveless remaster?

wat

Poliopolice, Thursday, 3 May 2012 21:19 (2 years ago) Permalink

think we were equating this never-to-be album with other long awaited legendary albums. Though a new MBV record would be more appropriate here than a remaster.
