my cousin, when he was 2, swallowed all the heads off my lego men.

aluminum causes Alzheimer's, no?

i remember my mom telling me when i was a kid that men used to swallow aluminum foil to get out of being sent to vietnam. she said it made a shadow appear in your lungs on an x-ray that looked like tb or something. this is a perfect opportunity to score some decent prescription drugs.

Wait - is aluminum foil magnetic? You should swallow a magnet tied to a piece of string and then yank it all out.

don't worry, if it's stuck on yr throat then yr throat will push it out soon enough like happens with any alien things that get under yr skin anywhere. i accidentally swallowed the corner of one of those little plastic sachets of oil and whatnot that you get in noodles and it lodged in my throat for a day or two and hurt like hell then it just got rid. either that or it got assimilated into my bloodstream and is even now inching its way towards my heart to explode it and kill me.

HOLY SHIT. this sounds horrifying.

A lot of times it feels like there's something lodged in your throat, but actually it's already gone. LIke when a fishbone gets in there. You get a little cut, and the cut makes it feel like something is there.

Or shove it up your ass and do it the fun way.

alumninum foil is not magnetic, but who knows what you might come up with if you sent a magnet down!

N_RQ, Friday, 6 May 2005 13:17 (eighteen years ago) link

if that's true, it's the best thing i've ever heard

Amateur(ist) (Amateur(ist)), Friday, 6 May 2005 14:57 (eighteen years ago) link

anyway, yeah, i think the foil is gone, but my throat still feels like it has a little scratch. very irritating.

it's something my dad told me. i think it is true, though.

Nick's cat has eaten quite a few plastic cd wrappers in her day and she's still alive and fat and well.

i just watched the curb your enthusiasm episode last night where larry gets a pubic hair caught in his throat.

i swallowed a bit of plastic fork last week. it had broken off into my salad. no problems.

x-post. Only in a good way, Am.

John, That episode's awesome. I was just telling the head honchos in my office about the one where they have the grand opening for the restaurant, because my bosses were thinking of investing in one. I got big laughs.

sarah, just make sure they don't hire a head chef with tourette's, and they should be fine.

I felt sure that this was going to be a Rainy thread. I'm not quite sure why.
