i dunno n/a their (admittedly msg-laden) grilled chicken is actually quite tasty, though not _so_ tasty that i'll regret not giving them any of my money.

we had a Chik-fil-A on campus my senior year, it was kind of weird

never would have thought the company that promotes itself with cows pleading for their lives in manson-like scribbles would be pushing their morality on people

but it makes sense... if they are fundies and believe in creation, they are apt to think animals share little w/ humans and were put here for our benefit/consumption.

the thing is i bet over 50% of private businesses in the bible belt contribute to all kinds of nasty shit. i guess it's good to have a high-profile business to target.

n/a, i'm not saying we shouldn't boycott chik-fil-a, i'm just saying this stuff is probably damned pervasive.

(and collectively i imagine lots of small businesses making donations probably add up to more than $2 million)

well of course it is but there's a reason why people are targeting chic-fil-a other than it being "high profile." you're right that lots of companies are doing gross stuff secretly but chic-fil-a is doing it publicly, making them the face of this type of funding, so it makes sense to target them specifically

I was in Pittsburgh last week and ate at this place. Never heard of it before,but seemed interesting. Can't believe they are so homophobic and not afraid to let the world know it. Food was alright nothing special.

there is certainly prejudice at play in the decision to boycott an establishment whose founder openly supports discriminatory measures, but it's a form of prejudice that I am more than happy to indulge in; I think being prejudiced against people who want to keep others from having equal rights is a moral imperative

I've never been to Chik-Fil-A (there weren't any where I lived when I still ate meat), so I don't know how good the food is -- but the company's overt Christianity (closed on the Sabbath!) weirded me out even before the anti-gay brouhaha.
