agreed, it's kinda cliche in its own way and doesn't really have much impact anymore

yeah, as much as people itt bitch about typographical woes, it's usually better than the alternative

Just sought out that Ilaiyaraaja/Tamil synth-funk thing - it's pretty nuts in a fun way.

Like, the VHF Doldrums?

No, it's not the VHF one, it's some guy from Canada doing weird lo-fi psychedelic dance music.

para one - passion

sisilafami, Tuesday, 5 June 2012 19:30 (11 months ago) Permalink

That looks like the "Before" of the first Masters of Reality cover.

No, it's not the VHF one

Do people not Google their band name ideas or is it just cool to not care now? Cool album cover though and I even kind of like the song, except the vocals.

Do people not Google their band name ideas

Short answer? No.
Long answer? I think we're about out of suitable names if the hundreds of horribly named bands I come across at work every day are any indication. I'd rather have two artists named Doldrums than even one named Stony Danza or Forever The Sickest Kids.

Johnny Fever, Wednesday, 6 June 2012 06:31 (11 months ago) Permalink

i'll take unique over suitable any time. i'd rather someone call themselves shitfuck mcgillicuddy than be the 53rd band to call themselves spindrift

lawrence and the machine (electricsound), Wednesday, 6 June 2012 06:40 (11 months ago) Permalink

I'd say the first band to call themselves Spindrift fucked up.

probably

lawrence and the machine (electricsound), Wednesday, 6 June 2012 06:50 (11 months ago) Permalink

Doldrums in this case is prolly an Ariel Pink ref no? but yeah it is bone idle and it's not like you even came up with a killer name or anything come on man
