I have four hangovers stacked on each other and have to go to work in an office this week while RG is on, something has gone v badly wrong with my life

On the other hand I spent yesterday afternoon and evening on a friend's penthouse roof garden overlooking London - we were looking down on all the other roofs - blaring an epic R Kelly mix and drinking rum so that was a bit of a life pinnacle

a bit woozy meself after a weekend of pina coladas in Marco Island.

I am sunburnt from the ballgame. I guess I need a flatmate to remind me when summer has started again and I need to smear myself.

my boyfriend is out of town this weekend so i've been lazying about the house, laying in my room where the A/C is cold, and intermittently masturbating. more or less.

we just crossed the sixth month mark o_o

his apt has central air (and cable!) and i have the keys so i've been very tempted to basically live there while he's gone since it's like 97 degrees here but i'm not sure how his roommate would feel about that

usually when he goes away i find my self sorta relishing time alone but once it actually happens i just get really bored

People with A/C. Ugh. Today it's finally temperate again but the weekend was spent with two fans attempting to lower the heat/humidity in my third floor apt.

The boy met my dad yesterday and it was totally unremarkable, which was kind of nice.

my bf lives in a garden unit below a family... really nice place w/ a few downsides (can't smoke weed in the house, little kids making noise 24/7) but CENTRAL A/C WOW

Oh! And yay @ j0rdan for six months! I think we're almost at a year and a half. I've pretty much just stopped counting at this point.

Side note: sudden painful one-side-of-head headaches during sex - not something to worry about, or impending Six Feet Under-style stroke? Google is giving me mixed messages on this. Apparently this is a common thing. But also a potential indicator of DOOM.

the dad of a friend of ours died last weekend so his boyfriend is meeting the family for the first time ever at the memorial, no word on how that went tho.

Oh wow. That sucks. I think I finally will get presented to the family at the end of the summer? It requires a 6 or 7 hour trip to 'les régions' i.e. very far away from big cities, and a total lack of English. It'll be fun. And vaguely terrifying.

Eh. I'm not scared of the small towns or the lack of English. It's more like - making a good impression on your bf's parents is already terrifying, let alone in your second language, let alone when you're doing so in a province where language IS politics.

I'm happily sporting a sunburn on most of my body. Looking forward to having even color this summer for the first time in years. Torso is a little too scorched, after some peeling it'll be toasty brown.

Less than some, more than others. Ideologically supportive, was constrained during the semester because my (Anglophone, upper middle class, international) university's faculties did not for the most part vote to strike. McGill tends to divide itself from the res of the student movement in the province, though, even compared to the other Anglo university, so the fact that four or five student unions got on board the strike was a big deal. There were always a decent minority of people in the law faculty who were supportive but after Bill 78 tons of friends who were otherwise dismissive of the movement have gotten on board. Unconstitutional laws apparently piss off law students. Go figure.

Anyway, I've been going to more of the daytime marches and then casserole-ing in the evening. Night marches freak me out a bit because the cops are more aggressive then but I'll probably go to a few of them with some friends over the next few weeks.

I have to squeeze every drop of Floridian from my corpuscles before I get used to homes without central A/C.

Ooo jurlfriend, it's a burn all right.... I don't get many sunburns, so it's novel and it feels almost invigorating. Might be riding a Vitamin D high tho.

Burns are not happy unless you are also into whips and sounding.

A few years ago it got up to about 105 here and everyone was completely dead from the heat because NO ONE in Seattle has A/C. It usually only goes above 90 a few days a year, if that. Some summers it doesn't even break past the high 80s.

it gets relatively hot here in the summer, but it also gets crazy cold in the winter and the buildings are old and apartments are cheap and students be poor.

br3nt and i spent the weekend in joshua tree, hiking and looking at crazy outdoor sculpture and drinking at pappy and harriet's and a visit to the INTEGRATRON and mad hotel room cuddlez (specifically the hotel where gram parsons OD'd!). we just passed the three-month mark ourselves, and (work pending) we'll be going to SF for a week mid-june. i'm still super-crazy about him.

and now off to a bbq!
