Also: the Croat and I just finished our second meeting. We cuddled last week and had dinner tonight (I had to pick up a friend at the airport). He's exceeded expectations both times. I know he likes me already but the Old Hesitation kicks in, demanding I keep him at a distance.

Oil Can Harry's is the name of a real place. That's awesome.

oh, I met a nice man last night. If he turns into my summer fling I would be pleased.

Wish some of you were here to go to Thundercrack! tonight.

Not much of a spring.

Spring affair when love continues to ignore you.

(The tautological flip of that is the real truth.)

Summer isn't unti mid-June, no? Weather notwithstanding.

I met a, uh, nice man, too. I was walking home on a quiet residential street late Saturday and said hi to the guy I passed, then a minute later we were making out and such, and then he got a text from his girlfriend who was at home waiting up for him. And such was the sum of my springtime romantic activity. <3

This happened a few doors down from jaymc's place, now that I think of it.

and my romantic activity too

The Reverend, Monday, 21 May 2012 15:44 (eleven years ago) link

Yeh, I kind of wanted to interview him when he told me that. It would be a sort of "debriefing," if you will. xp

you should've sent the girlfriend an Instagram

Donna Summer - "State of Independence"
Liza Minnelli - "Rent"

I have four hangovers stacked on each other and have to go to work in an office this week while RG is on, something has gone v badly wrong with my life

kanye kardashian (lex pretend), Monday, 28 May 2012 07:10 (eleven years ago) link

On the other hand I spent yesterday afternoon and evening on a friend's penthouse roof garden overlooking London - we were looking down on all the other roofs - blaring an epic R Kelly mix and drinking rum so that was a bit of a life pinnacle

a bit woozy meself after a weekend of pina coladas in Marco Island.

I am sunburnt from the ballgame. I guess I need a flatmate to remind me when summer has started again and I need to smear myself.

World Congress of Itch (Dr Morbius), Monday, 28 May 2012 12:22 (eleven years ago) link

This thread is horrible.

Count-Dracula-Down (Eric H.), Monday, 28 May 2012 13:19 (eleven years ago) link

Count-Dracula-Down (Eric H.), Monday, 28 May 2012 13:20 (eleven years ago) link

not enough smearing?

my boyfriend is out of town this weekend so i've been lazying about the house, laying in my room where the A/C is cold, and intermittently masturbating. more or less.

we just crossed the sixth month mark o_o

fapper don (J0rdan S.), Monday, 28 May 2012 14:40 (eleven years ago) link

his apt has central air (and cable!) and i have the keys so i've been very tempted to basically live there while he's gone since it's like 97 degrees here but i'm not sure how his roommate would feel about that

fapper don (J0rdan S.), Monday, 28 May 2012 14:43 (eleven years ago) link

usually when he goes away i find my self sorta relishing time alone but once it actually happens i just get really bored

fapper don (J0rdan S.), Monday, 28 May 2012 14:44 (eleven years ago) link

People with A/C. Ugh. Today it's finally temperate again but the weekend was spent with two fans attempting to lower the heat/humidity in my third floor apt.

twinkin' and drinkin' and ready to fly (Alex in Montreal), Monday, 28 May 2012 14:55 (eleven years ago) link

The boy met my dad yesterday and it was totally unremarkable, which was kind of nice.

twinkin' and drinkin' and ready to fly (Alex in Montreal), Monday, 28 May 2012 14:56 (eleven years ago) link

my bf lives in a garden unit below a family... really nice place w/ a few downsides (can't smoke weed in the house, little kids making noise 24/7) but CENTRAL A/C WOW

fapper don (J0rdan S.), Monday, 28 May 2012 14:56 (eleven years ago) link

Oh! And yay @ j0rdan for six months! I think we're almost at a year and a half. I've pretty much just stopped counting at this point.

Side note: sudden painful one-side-of-head headaches during sex - not something to worry about, or impending Six Feet Under-style stroke? Google is giving me mixed messages on this. Apparently this is a common thing. But also a potential indicator of DOOM.

twinkin' and drinkin' and ready to fly (Alex in Montreal), Monday, 28 May 2012 15:00 (eleven years ago) link

xxp yeah that's nice

the dad of a friend of ours died last weekend so his boyfriend is meeting the family for the first time ever at the memorial, no word on how that went tho.

fapper don (J0rdan S.), Monday, 28 May 2012 15:02 (eleven years ago) link

Oh wow. That sucks. I think I finally will get presented to the family at the end of the summer? It requires a 6 or 7 hour trip to 'les régions' i.e. very far away from big cities, and a total lack of English. It'll be fun. And vaguely terrifying.

twinkin' and drinkin' and ready to fly (Alex in Montreal), Monday, 28 May 2012 15:07 (eleven years ago) link

that sounds terrifying/ripe for slapstick humor

fapper don (J0rdan S.), Monday, 28 May 2012 15:09 (eleven years ago) link

Eh. I'm not scared of the small towns or the lack of English. It's more like - making a good impression on your bf's parents is already terrifying, let alone in your second language, let alone when you're doing so in a province where language IS politics.

twinkin' and drinkin' and ready to fly (Alex in Montreal), Monday, 28 May 2012 15:14 (eleven years ago) link

talking of politics are you much involved in the protests alex? bill 78 outraged me

kanye kardashian (lex pretend), Monday, 28 May 2012 15:16 (eleven years ago) link

Alex, are your headaches happening only while having sex?? Or during other physical activities?

I'm happily sporting a sunburn on most of my body. Looking forward to having even color this summer for the first time in years. Torso is a little too scorched, after some peeling it'll be toasty brown.

Pita Malört (Je55e), Monday, 28 May 2012 15:32 (eleven years ago) link

Less than some, more than others. Ideologically supportive, was constrained during the semester because my (Anglophone, upper middle class, international) university's faculties did not for the most part vote to strike. McGill tends to divide itself from the res of the student movement in the province, though, even compared to the other Anglo university, so the fact that four or five student unions got on board the strike was a big deal. There were always a decent minority of people in the law faculty who were supportive but after Bill 78 tons of friends who were otherwise dismissive of the movement have gotten on board. Unconstitutional laws apparently piss off law students. Go figure.

twinkin' and drinkin' and ready to fly (Alex in Montreal), Monday, 28 May 2012 15:33 (eleven years ago) link

Anyway, I've been going to more of the daytime marches and then casserole-ing in the evening. Night marches freak me out a bit because the cops are more aggressive then but I'll probably go to a few of them with some friends over the next few weeks.
