Fleetwood Mac 'Tusk'
Guided by Voices 'Alien Lanes'
Kate Bush 'Hounds of Love'
The Incredible String Band 'The Hangman's Beautiful Daughter'
The Rolling Stones 'Beggar's Banquet'
Richard & Linda Thompson 'I Want To See The Bright Lights Tonight'
The Band s/t
Neil Young 'Tonight's The Night'
Pharaoh Sandes 'Karma'
Gene Clark 'No Other'

Read the list, reached for my copy of Night Beat.

Popture, Wednesday, 16 May 2012 09:40 (1 year ago) Permalink

Hounds of Love, Easter Everywhere and maybe Tusk are all-time top ten for me. Love a whole bunch of other stuff on here too. Some names I don't even remember even seeing before though - Suni McGrath, Virgin Insanity, Claude Delcloo, Willis Alan Ramsey?

Goodbye 20th Centipede (NickB), Wednesday, 16 May 2012 09:40 (1 year ago) Permalink

Harsh 70s Reality because it's New Zealand Music Month and "Driver U.F.O.", but yeah, what a great list of records. Been jamming on a lot of The Sinking of the Titanic lately.

(Also, noize dudes are married? I feel old.)

yorba linda carlisle (donna rouge), Wednesday, 16 May 2012 18:05 (1 year ago) Permalink

Suni McGrath - instrumental guitarist, put out some records on Adelphi, for fans of Robbie Baso
Virgin Insanity - private press basement folk-rock, youtube the tune "don't get down"
Claude Delcloo - jazz drummer; the Africanasia LP features members of the Art Ensemble of Chicago and Arthur Jones etc. It's groovy and trancey.
Willis Alan Ramsey - songwriter from texas. put out one LP on leon russell's Shelter label. Waylon covered his "Satin Sheets" and changed "praise the lord & pass the mescaline" to "praise the lord & pass the tambourine" (ugh.)
