The ILXors I've met in real life have been pretty much the same as they were online. Just because of this one fucked-up case doesn't mean I'm gonna start doubting everyone for no proper reason.

I'm kinda with tuomas on this one, actually. Of course you can't believe everything, but doubting everything seems unnecessarily cynical. In my experience, ilxors irl are much MORE pleasant than they are on the boards. And a lot of us have met friends and SO's here -- the inclination is to think of it as a relatively safe place. Which is why it's even more messed up when someone flagrantly violates that.
