i agree nzonzi is pretty good but only in the prem goldfish bowl would his performances to date mark him out as a £7m big deal

u rong about diakite though - exceptional talent on the ball going off on devastating mad slalom runs, exceptionally violent even as a hack

Yeah, Diakité's no hack. Exceptional with the ball - not just running with it, but great at creating space for himself, too. He can tackle, I think, and is gradually learning that it's not a good idea to remove your opponent's leg just below the knee.

epl goldfish bowl is def a thing -- but so many managers like pulis, allardyce, o'neill etc will pay for epl acclimatized and proven n'zonzi over say someone out of serie a who has the potential to be twenty times better but might not enjoy the full fiddy worshipping, hollyoaks extra roasting, acl rupturing epl experience

Sydney FC's Dutch defender Pascal Bosschaart has never scored in his professional career despite having played 377 league games.
