Outloud seems to be, like, totally down. Not even the perpetual inability to load the page I usually get when it's down, but like it's not even there anymore.

Yeah, I've resorted to mumu in the past when outloud has gone down. It's like trying to replace heroin with cough syrup.

Mumu is okay, but AG is insistent that it only allows five people in at a time, which would scupper some of the best outloud-like party times.

Soundrop is definitely a no-go for me (and it doesn't even have the same functionality, anyway), and turntable.fm is a USA-only kiddyfest, right? Is there *anything* else?

Can we bribe someone to bring outloud back?

I just pm'ed one of the Outloud guys on facebook to find out the deal. I'll let you all know.

i looked for outloud's facebook a little while ago, but it doesn't seem to have one. didn't think to dig deeper, but glad you did.

Sounds like the outloud developers don't give much of a shit about the site anymore, can't make any money from it and don't have a reason to debug it, forget about it for weeks at a time, and are always surprised when someone alerts them that the server needs a restart. Or something like that.

yeah it's a bit of shame cuz the outloud interface is excellent, i havent tried the spotify app cuz the rights issues & (afaik) lack of opportunity to u/l yr own stuff make it sound a bit crap

i'm sort of surprised that outloud hasn't been able to find an audience. great idea, good design, seems as though it'd have pretty broad appeal.
