Jude Cole - Baby It's Tonight
Pebbles - Giving YOu The Benefit

Efua's "Somewhere" was my favourite song of 1993 at the time. A much bigger song in Australia than in the UK, I have no idea why:

alas, The Heights are not forgotten, my friend.

Celine Dion - "If There Was Any Other Way"

(I actually liked and still like this one.)

38 Special - Second Chance

This was the first time I ever knew about 38 Special, I had no idea til I moved to the States that 38 Special had had some halfway decent songs

Damn Yankees, "High Enough"

sockless in moccasins (jaymc), Monday, 7 May 2012 21:22 (2 years ago) Permalink

Instead of the YouTube links, you guys wanna explain briefly why they should or shouldn't be forgotten? I'd love read a few words on "Don't Shut Me Out," fer instance.

Exile in lolville (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Monday, 7 May 2012 21:23 (2 years ago) Permalink

I heard "High Enough" at CVS and "Second Chance" on the easy ilstening station last week.

Exile in lolville (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Monday, 7 May 2012 21:24 (2 years ago) Permalink

Can I take a moment of your time to rep for a global mindwipe of Ace of Base.

I just can't. I can't I can't I can't.
I even youtubed a link to post and then felt like a war criminal so I found something else instead.

Peppermint Patty Hearst (VegemiteGrrl), Monday, 7 May 2012 21:25 (2 years ago) Permalink

The Freakytrigger crew commented ably on the goodness of "The Sign."

The rest is kinda crap.

Exile in lolville (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Monday, 7 May 2012 21:27 (2 years ago) Permalink

I prefer the darker "All That She Wants" to "The Sign," tbh.

sockless in moccasins (jaymc), Monday, 7 May 2012 21:29 (2 years ago) Permalink

! Wow. All That She Wants is top of my list of their worst.

Peppermint Patty Hearst (VegemiteGrrl), Monday, 7 May 2012 21:30 (2 years ago) Permalink

sorry -- I meant "All That She Wants"

Exile in lolville (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Monday, 7 May 2012 21:32 (2 years ago) Permalink

I thought for the longest time that "All That She Wants" was a song about trying to get pregnant.

You Don't Throw Oranges On An Escalator (Deric W. Haircare), Monday, 7 May 2012 21:34 (2 years ago) Permalink

I thought it was!

I didn't post it yet and I'm kinda youtubed out, but I hope no-one's forgotten When I See You Smile by Bad English. I think it's still one of those ballads that always ends up on a compilation every few years...I am not ashamed to say that I love love love it.
If only because Jon Waite had that not-so-hot-dude with hot-sounding-singing-voice thing going on.

Peppermint Patty Hearst (VegemiteGrrl), Monday, 7 May 2012 21:35 (2 years ago) Permalink

I adore a couple of John Waite solo hits but Bad English is an excrescence. A relative bought me the tape of that first album in late '89. The only I can stand is the (forgotten!) second hit "Price of Love."
