According to my data, it was still charting in '87. A stretch, but still fair game!

Absolutley. I have a "Good Life" cassingle, but I'm not giving it up.

I guess rap isn't really what this thread is asking for, but I want to put this here for some reason. I remember this primarily as its chorus hook, anyway. It's certainly very 1990.

_Rudipherous_, Monday, 7 May 2012 15:34 (1 year ago) Permalink

is "Good Life" forgotten? that would be outrageus!

londonbeat "ive been thinking about you"

(REAL NAME) (m coleman), Monday, 7 May 2012 16:53 (1 year ago) Permalink

The idea here is less about singles forgotten by you guys (as if the ILM hivemind would ever let a song fall through the cracks of history) and more about singles that had a brief moment of popularity but never really became latter-day radio staples or overused in commercials/movies or whatever. I'm way familiar with a lot of this stuff, but only because I've made the effort to remain familiar with it.

Forgotten is right - - - I was born in 1981, started listening to the radio around '94, '95, and don't recognize anything that's been posted to the thread yet. Are all of these indeed lost treasure? Should I listen?

Jaymc's posts itt are speaking to me.

There are some real gems in this thread, Doctor Casino. Although the extent to which you're likely to agree is roughly equivalent to your tolerance for synth stabs.

Donna Summer - "This Time I Know It's For Real"

I've come to realize lately that Donna Summer has one of my all-time favorite voices. And this song is just great, especially for a single this late in someone's career.

I thought it was!

I didn't post it yet and I'm kinda youtubed out, but I hope no-one's forgotten When I See You Smile by Bad English. I think it's still one of those ballads that always ends up on a compilation every few years...I am not ashamed to say that I love love love it.
If only because Jon Waite had that not-so-hot-dude with hot-sounding-singing-voice thing going on.

Peppermint Patty Hearst (VegemiteGrrl), Monday, 7 May 2012 21:35 (1 year ago) Permalink

I adore a couple of John Waite solo hits but Bad English is an excrescence. A relative bought me the tape of that first album in late '89. The only I can stand is the (forgotten!) second hit "Price of Love."
