i really like the percussion. agree the tunes aren't great, but these were far from the best songs on the last tour.

ya these songs haven't struck me very much yet, which as a fanboy is pretty rare for new Animal Collective material. I think maybe I'm not especially digging the sonic palette they're using, it all sounds a bit murky and indistinct without having other qualities to make up for that. But then I've seen them doing their latest set of songs a couple of times and listened to them a couple more and I don't really remember these songs, so whatever I still anticipate the album. V uninternetty response I admit, it's time to proclaim a shark jump.

Centipede HZ is their Exile on Main Street. It's its own world... the best thing they've done.
