neither have i! shame this show isn't a millionth as good

Party Down ended in 2010 so it's not like there have been decades of waiting

remember what a big deal it was that Seinfeld was "a show about nothing"

There's an argument that it was actually about the metastasizing of urban selfishness, too. (cuz, yknow, Larry David)

There's an argument that there's no point being pedantic about the show's pithy way of marketing themselves as a counterpoint to the overly premise-driven sitcoms of the '80s.

a friend high-fived me tonight when i agreed that this show was my favourite tv right now.
we were at an indie-art-rock show.
i felt like i was on tv.

yeah haha i don't think this show is about profound moments because it's about the everyday life of certain twenty-somethings who while being somewhat-to-greatly self-conscious aren't all that self-aware. there's a difference, and so their profound moments don't necessarily seem all that profound even though they might be monumental in their lives at the time - i wouldn't call those moments trivial though. i mean, true, maybe in mainstream movies and tv, people have profound life-changing moments all the time, but that's the traditional nature of that stream of the medium. remember what a big deal it was that Seinfeld was "a show about nothing"? and it was, and that was great. but this show is about more than that.

yes, it's so much easier to remember 'that is non-celebrity brian williams' daughter' every time you hear the name of the character 'marnie' or see 'olivia williams' in the credits than it is to remember that the character is named 'marnie' or the actress 'olivia williams'

alternatively, it's straight up misogynist bullshit
