how old is your daughter? my cousin started taking fashion design classes after school when she was 11 and loved them. they covered everything from sketching out an idea to sewing a completed garment.

she had made couture dresses for tina weymouth and kate pierson by the time she turned 13!

she's 10 now, and not confident about her drawing, tho i told her she wd improve if she worked on it. maybe i shd see if there's anything around here that she could get into.

yeah this was a a cousin growing up in lol san francisco, but this after school program was dope-- taught be a veteran of the fashion industry who had a real talent for teaching kids. they studied all sorts of high fashion-y shit but one of the rules was whatever they worked on in class had to be for kids

rrrobyn did you go to little beach???

i didn't! i was with my mom and she wasn't into walking all the way there from where we were on big beach. (and she wasn't so into the nudity herself at that point, tho she's cool with it in general.) big beach and that whole area was rad though :) we saw turtles and tons of fish at red beach too!

we also drank coconut water from big organic coconuts we got from a roadside stand on the way to big beach
we also went to the beach on the way to little beach, before red beach, which has good snorkeling too but was kind of choppy on the day we went. so many beautiful beaches on maui!

lol the only time ive been to little beach was w/ my homegirl and her mom. kind of weird mostly lol seeing a friend take off her top for the first time in front of her MOM

did you drive the road to hana, and if you did, did you by any chance notice my friend's mural on "the pillbox"?

(it might have been painted over by someone else by now)

did not drive the road to hana - the road up the volcano was enough for this trip!
